23.01.2022 Yesterday's zips are now all installed in some of my newly-named Carolyn Cases. Then (because, why not?) I had a little fun with the zipper tags. There is now a Deathly Hallows tag on the Marauders Map case.... A puppy on the puppy case. D'uh. The geometric teal pattern reminded me of the colours I saw when I lived in San Antonio, so I topped it with a very apropos gecko. I saw ceramic wall plaques like these everywhere. And the pink floral reminded me of these iridescent charms I have and it was delightful watching the petals in the patterns echo. The cases are $10 each and will hold 3-4 fabric masks each. The puppy one is gone, peeps. Carolyn has it. Natch. **Edit** I can make more of these, guys. I have the fabric. 22.01.2022 I've spent my weekend playing with an idea I've had for a COVID case. I am The Bag Dag, after all. So here's the first draft. A smallish double-sided case. One side lined in waterproof fabric and with a red zip. It contains a net washing bag that is completely separate to the case.... The other side with several pockets. The idea is that sanitizer, wipes and clean masks live in the pocketed side. The red zip signals caution because this side is for used masks. So, one would open the first side, apply sanitizer and then open the red side. The mask that was on would be doffed and placed in the net bag on the red side. It would be zipped up, then hands cleaned again before a clean mask would be taken out and donned. At home, the red side would be emptied into the washing machine and wiped down with disinfectant- ready for the next day. I think it would be very useful for those who use multiple cloth masks every day but find the whole COVID Cha-Cha a bit of a palaver! 17.01.2022 Decided I'd better give Esme a trial run and did done made me some masks! I thought lighter colours might be the way to go with the warmer weather on the way. I have been struggling with my dry (rheumatic) eyes and my current masks, so changed the profile a little on these ones. They're cut a little lower, but still reach under my specs to reduce fogging. Win!... 12.01.2022 I was attached to a drip for most of Friday (situation normal) and just realised that I hadn't posted these! I mean, I mailed them on Friday but didn't post them them here. The client had looked at previous posts and chose fabrics from there. One wasn't a possibility, so I used that lovely orange tie-dye print instead. ... I was also quite pleased that I managed to line up the rows of roses... 12.01.2022 My octogenarian dad went into care early in the plague. He'd lost a lot of weight during his illness and needed new clothes, so things were purchased. This cardigan came from kmart. It was wonderfully affordable, looked quite smart and he loved it.... He spilled something on it within days, but refused to let it go - even after the stain was horribly set. This family's were my first , including a crocodile mask for a 7 year old and a teeny tiny daisy mask for a Miss 5!... No nose wires for these guys and a less fitted shape. 07.01.2022 Last week, in the world of bagdaggery, life included a major hiccup. My sewing machine stopped working. It had been misbehaving for a while (there has been much unpicking, of late) but I continued to try powering through the backlog of orders...until... Universe says no.... So, my beloved heavy duty, mechanical workhorse went to the doctor and I was told to expect to hear nothing for a fortnight. Then I discovered the machine I had been given as a spare had a bent needle shaft, rendering all efforts beyond frustrating! So, I popped into the local buy swap sell page and this lovely called to me at a bargain price. I'm still getting used to her. I've never had a computerised machine and it's a very different sewing experience. For a start, the needle tends to keep going after I've taken my foot off the pedal! Most disconcerting. But I at least have the tension sorted and can make seams that hold now. Production will recommence anon. #bagdaggery #disastermanagement #productionissues #newmachines #singerftw
