25.01.2022 The business who supplied us with shipping boxes is unfortunately out of action due to CV-19 So a new supplier was sourced in #Queensland. Sourcing is a fun part of the job! We were after an e-flute board (the thickness is 1.5mm and good for ecomm packages). The white box in the photos was our previous one. It held exactly 2 applicator products top-to-tail. Snug fit but no room for extras. It could be assembled in 3.2 seconds ... Our new recycled brown board size was upgraded due to average orders, this time with some extra room. We're still getting quicker at assembly and right now it is 5.8 seconds You'll notice we don't brand our boxes, we rather keep it simple and just place a small sticker on it. 12.01.2022 We've learnt a couple of valuable lessons last month about using Amazon Fulfillment Services. The process is We do all the product prep, send it to an Amazon warehouse in the US and when a customer orders they send it on our behalf. After a long investigation...what happened was a customer had used our product, 3 months later returned it to Amazon and got their money back. Because it was in the box and it 'looked' ok it was sent out to a new customer. Of course they would h...ave been shocked ...thinking we knowingly sent it this way. We've smoothed it over with the customer and they are happy with their new one . Lesson 1: set 'replenish stock' to OFF. If Amazon ever receive a product back, for any reason don't sell it. This will remove what happened in our case. Lesson 2: have someone in your team reading comments daily and notifications set when certain ratings are received. So when there is an issue you can solve it quickly. We didn't ask the customer to remove her 1 star. It happened and we'd rather others see how we handled it.

03.01.2022 This is not the new bakslap flap hat it's a little re-cap on when we were creating ours. We've received a few messages of late asking how we went about creating a hat, here we go... Pretty Easy picking an existing, standard hat and deciding where to place your logo. Select a colour and order Not So Easy trying to add a flap, a double-sided colour-specific pattern and use a unique combo of materials. ... All up, it took 4 months to receive our first shipment. Why???? 1. we asked a whole bunch of people what they wanted in an ideal cap, what they wanted in a sun protective cap, weather conditions it would be used for, colour etc... 2. we contacted a lot of factories to get samples and sent them a brief (which we were still somewhat developing ) 3. we up-skilled our self pretty quickly on how a hat is actually made and all the options that you can have. We then took it to people to see what was liked more: embossing of the logo/raised embossing/or printed on; snap back/velcro/or a band to adjust the fit etc... 4. next came the material. We needed it to be quick dry, light weight, a little stretchy and white - so it also could be put in the washing machine. It also had to reduce those UV rays when outdoors. We created a combo of nylon and elastane to tick these boxes. 5. there are many brim options available and lengths - at times we wished there weren't so many options We got feedback on the most popular size and made sure it could be 'shaped' easily to one's own style. 6. the Flap! It was a sticking point. To get the length right was a start, with the first few at only 12cm, it didn't protect the neck and made anyone wearing it looks as though they had a bob-haircut Then now to connect it to the flap...do we stitch it permanently? Use velcro to stick the sides up, or clips (and where's the best position for them. 7. flap material is actually x2 pieces stitched together to block UV getting to the neck and ears and allows our wave pattern to be seen from any direction. It too had to be a material that was light, quick dry and held its shape. Doing it for the first time always takes a little longer we've learnt. Involving lots of people helped ensure we created a first-edition flap hat that people would won't to buy and wear - and this we have done. 03.01.2022 Hello hello. I'm Raph and in my mid 30's. I grew up playing for hours and having fun in the Aussie outdoors. 90 days ago I went for my annual skin check and all of those hours in the sun had caught up with me... My skin doctor identified sun damaged skin cells on my forehead, nose and the sides of my face. Leaving it could potentially turn to skin cancer later in life - NO WAY was I taking that risk. We've already experienced the tragedy of losing a sister to skin cancer. S...o, the option that was recommended was doing a 21-day treatment using EFUDEX. A cream medication used on the skin to treat pre-cancerous nasties. Killing them off and generating new, healthy skin cells. Problem was, I searched the net and found NO ONE my age detailing the treatment - especially the before and after. It's with plesaure that I share my experience and the lessons I've learnt from it.
