Every Pilates exercise is modifiable to be able suit beginners, intermediate & advanced Pilates goers, therefore enabling everyone to work at the own abilities and progress as they feel comfortable. 22.01.2022 Stretching is just as important as the exercises in Pilates It helps lengthen the muscles, release tension and most importantly provide you with a moment to breathe However its an easy thing to forgo at the end of your class if you are left to your own devices... Thats why each week I create a stretch & relaxation class for online Pilates to encourage you to take the extra 15 minutes out for yourself! The first option is more rewarding, requires more nutrients to grow and provides you nourishment for a long time The second provides you with an instant reward that is great at the time but is gone just as quickly as you bought it. Like all good things your health takes time Have patience, do the ground work and the results will come... and better yet theyll stick around for the long haul

12.01.2022 Food for thought Yesterday in clinic I was asked why so many people suddenly have food intolerances/ allergies. This question has so many potential answers but one that sometimes gets over looked is the change in the way our food is manufactured, grown, processed, packaged, transported etc. Your environment has the ability to influence your health just as much as the food you put in your body Have you too noticed a rise in food intolerances/ allergies lately?

11.01.2022 As some of you may know, I have been advised to stop teaching my Pilates classes for the time being at Middle Island Medical Clinic to minimise the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) within our community. As a small business this was not a decision that I made lightly, however I believe it is the right decision to make to benefit the majority over the minority. However, just because physical Pilates classes have been suspended for a little while, doesn't mean you shouldn't stil...l enjoy moving your body! Not only to maintain your fitness levels but also to help reduce any stress/anxiety that you may be feeling currently. High levels of stress are linked with a lower immune system, so staying as calm as possible at the moment is really important for not only your mental health but also to continue to support your immune defence. To support you through this crazy time I have designed a series of online Pilates classes to keep you moving your body, maintain + build your Pilates strength and to provide you a space to relax and take some time to breathe. Online Pilates classes will start on Monday the 23rd of March and are only $25 per week! You will be able to access them whenever you like during the week + as many times as you like during the week from the comfort of your home. 10.01.2022 At the Balance of Being my clients health has always been my first priority, your health is your wealth and without it you wouldnt be able to do all the amazing things you do for your family, self and workplace. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is even more important that we put our health and the health of those within our community first, hence there are some changes occurring to Pilates and Nutrition for the foreseeable future. For Pilates; If you are feeling unw...ell, have someone in close contact to you who is unwell, or have recently travelled overseas (and have not had 14 days of self quarantine) please do not attend your Pilates classes. Class passes can be suspended if this information applies to you. Everyone will be required to use hand sanitiser before and after entering the ballroom at Middle Island Medical Clinic. This can be found at the top of the staircase. Card payments are preferred over cash if possible. If you have your own yoga mat, please bring it along with you, as well as blanket or towel to use on the mat for padding. The blankets usually provided will not be available for use. If you need to use the studio mats, you will be asked to help me wipe them down, along with any equipment we have used to ensure sanitary requirements are met. I endeavour to keep Pilates classes going for as long as possible to continue to provide you all with a space to move your bodies and relax your mind amongst all this craziness. However, should I be advised medically otherwise, then I will update you again with any changes. For nutrition; Again, if you are feeling unwell or have someone in close contact to you who unwell, please inform me as soon as possible as we can arrange for an online consult if you still wish to keep your appointment. Please respect that within my clinic I have clients who have compromised immunity and other health conditions that make them more susceptible to viral infections, so take the necessary precautions if required. Card payments are preferred over cash if possible. Extra sanitation process will take place within the clinic, including hand sanitiser before and after your consult, as well as additional cleaning done in between consults by me. I am currently offering 20 minute consults for $30 for people wanting information on how to support their immune system or those with acute cold symptoms. This appointment type is not suitable for those with chronic immune dysfunction. Send me a message to book in Any questions please ask! As a small business the more time you can provide me to cancel/ reschedule your appointment the better, so please be mindful of providing as much notice as possible if you are feeling unwell. Not sure what Barre is? It is a higher intensity Pilates workout that increases the heart rate a little more than your typical mat workout and it gets the booty burning within minutes! 09.01.2022 Woohoo we are finally back in the studio as of the 7th of July!! Thank you to everyone for their patience and to those who have continued to support me through my online Pilates classes :) I cant wait to get back to face-to-face classes with you all! Weve changed a few things to accomodate the health and safety of everyone in the studio starting with a maximum of 9 people per class and 1.5m distancing between mats. For the time being there will also be no class passes to a...void people missing out on enjoying the full benefit of their pass. Lastly, the timetable has been changed slightly and will be altered depending on demand and COVID-19. 04.01.2022 Last night I had my first bout of body image anxiety in over 6 months. Whilst I am very proud of myself that Ive gone that long without the negative self talk I thought I would be stuck with forever in my head, it got me thinking what has spurred this on. I still fit my clothes the same & look the same, I havent had anyone give me any reason to spark that negative self talk again... the only thing that I havent done in two weeks is exercise. Ive gone for a walk here and t...here but two weeks without Pilates and I feel like my mind is in overdrive. Whenever I do little polls or ask clients what they get most out of Pilates I am always pleasantly surprised to hear that their mental health and body image benefits most out of my Pilates classes. And this experience has made me realise the same thing! So, if like me your feeling anxious about your body and how your body is feeling, particularly after the silly season, come and give Pilates a go! Whilst most people walk through the door for the exercise, they stay because their body, mind and self-appreciation becomes strong Check my previous post for the new timetable- I cant wait to get back to moving my body & mind with you all tomorrow
03.01.2022 Completed my 25th lap around the sun this weekend & my heart is more full than ever So grateful for the people in my life including all of you that allow me to do what I love and call it work This weekend also marks a month since I started online Pilates classes... where has that month gone!
