13.01.2022 Paul (Nicholas) Theodore Arrived in Australia aged 16. For thirty years, he served behind the hospitality counter of Melbourne CBD cafes and restaurants many of which he owned making espresso coffees. ... In 1979, Paul decided to change tact and roast coffee behind the Balwyn retail counter then known as Oasis Coffee adding new shelving and display counters for a wider range of products, introducing such new products as Nutella and Cheese spread, imported biscuits, chocolates and lollies and nuts. In 1980 he went a step further and bought the Oasis Coffee wholesale arm to also roast coffee beans for the many cafes and restaurants spreading around Melbourne and in 1986 purchased Griffiths coffee and tea whose 300kg roaster brought in to serve US troops stationed during WW II could cater for distribution Australia wide.
