17.01.2022 Last chance for a "Bari breakkie" for two weeks, today, fam! Close at 12pm back on the 18th! Thank you for all your support the wild and crazy year that was 2020. Looking back, we can't believe how much weird and wonderful stuff we did to get through, but it was fun, right?! Best of all we got through and we're now embarking on our third year in our little nook of North Brisbane! Thank you to Jo and Amy, our amazing team who are committed to and diligent within our li...ttle spot. They don't miss a beat, rarely have sick days and are our biggest fans. They're always encouraging and on board with our ideas as well as creating their own to bring something new to our space! We've said it before and we'll say it again, we know which side our bread is buttered, there! Our daughter also deserves a mention for her contribution especially through COVID, particularly when she stayed back to help clean on those late nights we had the food trucks! Proud Mum. 16.01.2022 We are sad to hear of the sudden passing of our beautiful relish lady, Anna, from Travelling Foodies. Annas creations have filled our shelves and bellies since we opened last March after a long, perfectionist search for the best tomato relish. Our first phone call was like finding an old friend. We talked about everything from politics, (of course), and community development to weird jam recipe ideas and the labour of love that was her peeling rosellas for her rosella jam. ... . She was just pure loveliness who listened intently, responding with a quiet, measured voice that carried her unassuming humanity and wisdom. She adored her new granddaughter and always spoke proudly of her children. She and her husband Michael were inseparable attending markets and shopping centre stands together, sharing their wares up and down the country. We are going to miss her and our hearts go out to her family at this time. See more

Chance here decided to venture down to where the bacon smells were wafting from this morning and (attempted to) have a play with a visiting, (but not reciprocating), German Shepherd Scary! . As you can imagine, we had to intervene and keep him safe in our ute til mum and dad retrieved him! . Please remember we dont have outdoor dining nor do we accommodate floof family members inside the cafe. Dogs are not to be left unattended outside at any time. Give us a wave and well come out to you! This is for aforementioned health and safety reasons for both customers and staff, mainly because we get a LOT of neighbourhood explorers and we are obligated in ensuring community safety within our space and generally. Thank you for understanding!

15.01.2022 Still time for a 2020 Baristorian Breakfast! Thank you so much for your support of us, our regular affiliates and the food trucks during this, well, indescribable year. During our break, we will be working on new directions to implement at the cafe next year that will hopefully get us back on track to assist in the community more broadly! 06.01.2022 We have a new coffee family member joining our Kingpin house blend by Syndicate Coffee! If you're a frequenter of Nundah Sunday markets, you'll know these "Fine Fellows"! In contrast to our medium-light, Melbourne-based Syndicate coffee, Fine Fellows beans are locally roasted on the Sunshine Coast and the slow, wood-roasting technique yields a dark bean with a rich, bold flavour in the traditional Italian style. . We use their Aroma Intenso for our new batch brew available now, while their Classico Italiano is available on our second grinder for an alternative espresso. Also, if you have sugar or syrups in your coffee, this brew is going to take your daily specialty caffeination to a whole new level and if you're a bit partial to an affogato, then this is definitely your poison!

It was a bit, well, ambitious of us to open a cafe considering our intense family responsibilities and finding someone to join us on this journey who could understand their role might expand beyond the cafe into borderline family realm was daunting. . Well never know how we managed to get so damn lucky first time around. Jo has been with us since we opened last March and her culinary, organizati...onal and personal, contributions to our fledgling business and personal lives are immeasurable. Shes never got wasted on a Friday night and piked on us on a Saturday morning. She worked extra hours during COVID, when Corinnes had assignments and our sons had appointments. Shes an amazing role model for our teenage daughter who idolizes her and so genuine and caring towards our son and his needs. . Shes nobodys idiot, takes ZERO crap and her knowledge of the industry has helped us lay fair and reasonable boundaries for our premises, reinforced by her support and initiative. So many of our drink items are her creations and shes also taught us how to take awesome food pics, pour latte art and is a low-key sign-writing master. Shes focused on self development as you can see by her progression from cooking pans and fire blankets to creating culinary masterpieces. Were sorry we have to live in a capitalist system where her diligent work, insight and skill is essentially exploited for "profit" and reduced to "wages". What she has brought to our lives is far more than financial. When weve made it well hand her a third share because we know we couldnt have done it without her. Love you Jo. So much! See more
