14.01.2022 I have had a few people recently ask me why we didn’t keep the name the Shire Hall Hotel. So just to clarify ... When we took over the hotel we went to register the name to us only to find the name was not available as it was registered to someone else. Shire Hall Ararat is the name currently registered and unavailable. Unfortunately we needed to find another name. Hope that sheds some light on it for those concerned We chose The Barkly Bistro Bar & Accommodation and we will not remove Hotel Shire Hall from the top of the pub out of respect for its history and to make it available to a publican who may be able to legally access the name in the future.

03.01.2022 To all our amazing customers at The Leo and to Matt and his staff along with our lovely staff a very big thank you. Thanks for supporting us as we changed from in house dining to take away dining. Covid 19 has had such an impact on this industry and we have enjoyed being able to adapt to meet the social distancing requirements but still offer a pub meal experience. Everyone has been delightful and supportive and we are truly grateful. The time has come for us to now take a break for a couple of months to come back rested and ready to provide the dining experiences we trust you will enjoy. Much love Sandy & Rob
