23.01.2022 The Barrel Farm by Blackmans (Vic) is a passion project focusing on barrel aged sour and farmhouse ales and is located on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. Th...eir maiden couplet release consists of a kettle sour and a sour neipa. Each presented with locally inspired artwork. Sour has tropical hops seated on a bed of oak, finished with a salty crispness. This is an accessible, balanced, easy drinking sour. 4.5% Sour NEIPA is a hazy gin cocktail in a beer! The flavours of gin, mint, lime and cucumber are all present with big hops and a mouthwatering sourness. 6.5% Congratulations to The Barrel Farm on this exciting launch of quality beer! 22.01.2022 Blobfish Beer Festival BEER Blackmans Lane Straight Sour 2.5 year old golden sour originally fermented with both ale and lager strains and then refermented in red wine barrels oak with Brettanomyces Clausenii. ABV 6%



21.01.2022 GIN SMOKED PORTER About a month ago, we filled a 225ltr barrel with Smoked Porter. The barrel was home to a navy strength gin by The Whiskery / Bellarine Distillery, and prior to this Pinot Noir by Scotchmans Hill. The vision: We are aiming for a lovely balanced porter with some Gin notes and earthy tones.

17.01.2022 Blobfish Beer Festival BEER Herb Infused Farm House Ale A kettle sour with sea water and fermented clean with lager yeast blended with a 2.5 year old farmhouse ale refermented with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and infused with fresh lemon, sage, rosemary and thyme. ABV 5.5%

15.01.2022 Blobfish Beer Festival BEER Quince Saison An earthy farmhouse ale, brewed with pilsner & wheat malts. Local quince and honey additions give a hint of delicate, sweet fruit. Mashed at a low temp to get a dry finish. Loral hops and Honey added in boil. Fermented warm. Quince macerated and added at end of fermentation.

15.01.2022 Our Sour this is our year round creation. Its a pale, refreshing sour beer with hints of oak, tropical hops and a dry, salty finish.

14.01.2022 BLOBFISH BEER Hazy Golden Sour for the upcoming Blobfish Beer Festival! Blend of ale originally fermented with Belgian yeast, infused with lemon zest, toasted coriander seed and toasted coconut and then split into stainless and french oak barrels. The barrel was refermented with Brettanomyces Clausenii and the stainless portion was refermented with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and Brettanomyces Clausenii. ABV 5%

14.01.2022 We spent yesterday on the farm creating The Journey series of beers. And we loved every second of it.

12.01.2022 Yesterday we rinsed, steamed and purged with C02 Pinot Noir barrels. We then filled the barrels with different blends of Pinot and Chardonnay skins, Pinot and Chardonnay juice and a base beer. The base beer is a malt driven ale, made up of Pale, Marris otter, Munich, caramunich, wheat and acidulted malt. Its first fermentation in tank with US05. Now we wait......

11.01.2022 Tasting time weve made a Belgian style Wit Bier and filled two barrels. Inoculated one with Brettanomyces Claussenii and the other with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis. Well be tasting every two months over the next 12-18 months.

03.01.2022 THE JOURNEY series a base lager beer, with pale malt, loral hops in ex Scotchmans Hill Pinot Noir barrel. We have inoculated with various wild yeast strains and bacteria. Now we wait for the tasting journey and see how the beer transforms in barrel.

02.01.2022 NEW BARREL ALERT... Delivered to the farm by Russel from The Whiskery / Bellarine Distillery, this barrel has most recently had Navy strength small batch Gin in it. Prior to that it was filled with Local Pinot Noir from Scotchmans Hill, just down the hill from The Whiskery. Now, we are filling it with a dark ale, and we wait to let all the local magic and flavours from our region take hold. Well update you on tastings as they happen.
