We want to help Toowoomba locals move and feel better through this unique training program.... At The Bar, we've been helping people aged 18-50 years to move better and feel better, and this is our first program specifically designed for Older Adults (55+). 18.01.2022 It's the most DANGEROUS time of the year 4 Tips to Enjoy Your Time Off and Still Crush the Beginning of 2021 We LOVE christmas! ... 1. Momentum is everything... There's a couple of ways we can head into 2021... with some wind in our sails, or full of regret and ham. You may not get everything 100% perfect over this time. There will be food, drinks and enjoying yourself. However, maintaining your momentum is key. Keep moving your body. Keep drinking plenty of water. Keep getting good sunlight. Around events, eat food that makes your body feel good. Sleep well with a little extra time off. 2. EXERCISE IS NOT A PUNISHMENT FOR THE FOOD YOU ATE Indulge, enjoy yourself - but PLEASE do not punish yourself for the food you ate by 'smashing' yourself at the gym. Build a healthy relationship with exercise. It's there to help us move and feel good. Exercise and weight loss are not the same thing. Move because it makes you feel good, not because you feel bad for eating a little too much. 3. 10 Meals Christmas/Christmas Parties/New Years when you look at it is really only approx 10 meals. There is SOOOO much time in between to maintain parts of routine... and it will make a massive difference heading into the new year if you focus on doing what you can/what is reasonable in the time we have. 4. Don't Overhype 2021. Many of us will be tempted to have a MASSIVE ACTION PLAN on how we're going to crush 2021 - 1000 things we're going to get right EVERYDAY because we're just so MOTIVATED And then we get 3 days in and realise it's gonna be a long year... Focus on developing consistent habits - block by block. You don't have to get everything perfect every single day to make amazing change.

11.01.2022 HOW DO I GET MYSELF OUT OF BED TO EXERCISE EARLIER? Don’t hit the snooze button. Try setting your alarm and then place it as far away from the bed as the charger will reach. When it goes off in the morning you gotta get up to get it - hardest part done! Make plans with a friend (one you don’t want to let down) and watch your accountability skyrocket. It makes getting into the habit much easier.... Get everything you need sorted the night before. That way you can’t have any excuse as to why you aren’t prepared. 11.01.2022 3 MISTAKES I WISH I KNEW I WAS MAKING LOSING 30KG Not all that long ago I was a little heavier than I am now. It’s a journey I’m still on every day - and there’s some BIG mistakes I made that I want YOU to avoid!!! PERFECTION DOES NOT EXIST ... When I first wanted to lose weight - I’d make these big long lists of ALL the things I was going to nail and get absolutely perfect. What really happened: I found that amount of change so quickly was unsustainable and I failed hard! This lead to emotional eating and overall worse results. LOSING WEIGHT IS NOT ABOUT EATING LESS Sounds crazy - but the amount of food we eat when losing fat DOES NOT have to be less than what we’re used to. Yes - we do need to focus on reducing calories often to create a deficit - BUT we want you to eat great healthy foods that make you feel GOOD! When you feel good - everything is easier! You want to train more, you see more results. TRAINING ON YOUR OWN SUCKS Yes sometimes it has to be done - and yes, some people prefer solidarity - not me! Having others around to push you and a coach to set out your training takes the guess work out of it. Then all you need to focus on is doing it!!! Not having to think of a workout and get yourself motivated after a long day of work! Imagine trying to do your own dental work! That’s what you pay an expert for - have you ever thought about having someone to help you with exercising, eating and motivation? 04.01.2022 Remember that time I had 120 PEOPLE show up to one session? I do It was great to have that many people at The Bar - BUT it was honestly the MOST stressful session I have ever run. It was the first night of a brand new challenge - and we only had one session on ... It was hectic, chaotic, crazy. Trying to get WAY too much done, without enough Time and Space. A bit like mistakes made losing weight and keeping it off. HERE’S HOW IT NORMALLY GOES 1 You’ve had enough - feel motivated and ready to make a change 2 You write down EVERYthing you’re going to change - starting Monday - no stone left unturned 3 You make it to Thursday lunchtime, absolutely crash, give into cravings, and feel like absolute crap for failing because you can’t keep up that insane pace It’s akin to brushing your teeth 72 times the morning before going to the dentist. They’re going to know. And they’re going to tell you the same thing about your teeth I’m about to tell you about your fitness... Do it daily. Don’t miss a day. Don’t push too hard. And the results will pay off. You can’t fake this. Many of us have tried. You have to do it day in, day out. Once you accept that, let’s find a way to help you enjoy it! Like a gym or somewhere you actually want to go back!! Somewhere you’ve got support for when you’re about to/do fall off the wagon? Somewhere where someone can help you with your workouts and nutrition....
