17.01.2022 Remember why you’re here! For me, it’s health always and foremost. It’s remembering that my body is ageing everyday and in 20 years from now, I want to move well, feel good and be free of pain throughout my whole life, not just while I’m young.... It is so easy to get trapped in the now, thinking that your perfect size is everything, the yoyo diets, the workouts that leave you in pain with no enjoyment or purpose. There’s so much more to it, it’s focusing on what you do today, for what your future self will thank you for. It’s the little things, the easy things that the fitness industry has taken so much attention off when selling the magic pills and the detox teas. Drink your water, move your body everyday, eat a healthy meal. Its not the glamorous shit you see on Instagram that’s pretty to take photos of, but it’s what is going to count and make the difference, those little 1 percenters

Everyone starts in the same place, it’s the reflection of looking back and realising how far you’ve come since your first day.

15.01.2022 I’m sure if you’ve trained with The Base then you’ve met Bec! Bec is one of my longest clients and it seems appropriate to share her story that we giggle about now, almost 4 years ago. Before The Base opened and I was a trainer at World Gym Maitland, Bec was assigned to me for her 2x Intro sessions. The first thing she said to me was ‘I’m not signing up to PT, I’m just using these sessions because they’re free’, we can laugh now because that was 4 years ago and the only week... she’s ever missed was when on holidays in China She’s a legend and anyone who has met you, knows how happy and warm you make them feel, Thankyou I wanted to share this story because as we near the reopening for 2021 and with many goals in mind for so many of you, I understand how hard it is to start, the overwhelming feeling of sending the first message, taking those first few steps. You might not think it’s for you, or it’s out of your reach, it’s not. It’s small steps that lead to big things, not overnight, nothing worth having comes easy. But reflecting back this time next year, with those same goals that you started with and your achievements in front of you is a rewarding feeling that you have earned for yourself. See more

14.01.2022 Thankyou @salt.t.australia! A magnesium oil for each of my clients, to say thank you for another great year! With such a challenging year as a small business, navigating through a pandemic, with the gym being closed for 3 months and moving to an online program. I’m thankful for the challenges we all faced and how well we all adapted to the unknown at the time.... A little something from me, to say thank you to you, for your loyalty and trust in me as your coach! Be aware of hidden calories - drinks, juices, cocktails, snacking and picking. 2. Choose your splurges 3. Make sure you’re also not under eating (something we’re actually guilty of more then we realise) 4. Are you hungry, or are you eating out of boredom? Enjoy your holiday break, a few kgs are normal to gain in this time, life is about balance! The Base is back 11th January for 1:1, 2:1 PT and Small Group PT, bookings available now!

10.01.2022 The Wallballs, an exercise you either love or hate Its effective, but why is it effective? For a number of reasons but let’s focus on leg drive and why you will constantly hear me say ‘find your depth first and the wall target will come as second prority’. Finding the depth within your squat, paired with bracing your midline correctly is the perfect combination to power out of the squat as the ball reaches height on the wall. Now you’re building strength in those legs t...o drive up and out of the squat with power. Leg drive is a BIG part of many movements we see that are usually considered clients favourites: Rowing, Push Press, Olympic lifting..the list goes on forever. When Wallballs are in your program for the day, remember how many benefits you will gain from these movements when performed correctly. A good coach doesn’t use exercises as punishment (burpees etc) but will explain the transfer of skills to other movements to change a clients perspective on how these are good for you, not just programmed to kill you See more

We are so busy in life thinking about our everyday that we often dismiss the importance of what we do today and how it will effect us in the years to come. Where do you want to be or how do you want to feel in 20 years?... It’s easy enough to say ‘I’ll get started soon’ and before you know it 6 months or a year has passed and it’s still on the back burner. How do you want to feel when you’re older? Do you want to move well, free of pain, independent and living your healthiest life? Don’t be ignorant to your health. If you have pain now and you’re ignoring it, how do you think it’s going to effect you in 10-15 years? Do yourself the favours today so that you can enjoy your life in years to come. There is never a ‘good’ time to start, there is just time and what YOU choose to do with it. The choice is yours, you are responsible for you.
