25.01.2022 Santa Run Update Due to the pandemic we have had to make some slight changes to our Annual Xmas Eve Santa Run. Start time 5pm - Santa and his helpers will be departing the fire station as close to 5pm as possible. Pre-bagged lollies will be given out by Santa's helpers Santa will be seen on the back of the fire truck, he will not be getting down to ensure social distancing is kept. Photos with Santa can be taken beside the truck... This means all areas will be getting a fire truck this year! Yippee!! Due to the availability of vehicles there may be slight changes in timings and routes from previous years. Please keep an ear out for the music and make sure you are ready and waiting out on your driveways or somewhere we can see you. ** Please note for very steep roads (Old Forest / Mercia / Inverness areas) if the truck is going up the hill they will not be able to stop until they reach a flat-ish section. If you would like a photo please wander down (or up) to the closet flat section.

24.01.2022 Today as Australia rises for ANZAC Day, together we remember all those who have served. The fallen and returned, men, women, young and old. This year, we also recognise the significant contribution our defence personnel made to an unprecedented fire season and thank them for their support throughout the recovery effort. ... #StandAtDawn Image credit: Defence Australia

21.01.2022 What an awesome community we live in! Massive shout out to every single person last night who was out there in the rain helping to cut and drag trees off the roads. Whether driving home from work, heading to out to get dinner or simply stepping outside to see what was happening, all those who could help did help give yourself a pat on the back
17.01.2022 Over the weekend we had our 2019 Recruit Course graduation. A little late due to the fire season we've had. Luke, Lewis and Chris have put in the hard yards last year with theory and practical trainings both during the course and back at our brigade. Since completing the course they have been able to get out on the trucks and get some real experience with live fire and even some Strike Teams. Well Done!!

13.01.2022 Last year we introduced a handful of our members to you and its about time we bring it back. This post we are getting to know Firefighter Luke Cockerell 'Living in an area like The Basin I think if you are able to you should help out your community as the fire brigade does a lot more than what people think to help make our community safe.' the reasoning behind Luke joining our brigade just over a year ago. Since then he has completed the recruit course, turning out to ...fire calls and preparing for the summer season ahead If you are thinking about joining he would highly recommend it. Joining the CFA has been the most interesting, challenging and exciting thing he has done. 'It’s a great organisation and as much as you put into it, you get rewarded back 100%' Growing up Luke really wanted to be a rock star, but that just ended up in spending way to much money on guitars since the days of adolescence Luke spends a fair bit of time running a couple of business’ in construction, proudly helping build some of the landmark construction projects in Melbourne. When he's not working he spends as much time as possible with his wife 11 week old son and 2 British Bulldogs as well as riding through the hills on his Harley

05.01.2022 Earlier this week in our brigade meeting we had Matt present Captain Corey and the brigade with a cheque of a whopping $4500 A few weeks ago Matt teamed up with Waves Never Die and created a website for an online competition which was only open for a week, this was to raffle off a rare t-shirt. At only $1 per ticket these guy were able to raise over $20K!!!! The money raised was divided between WIRES NSW, Warriors for Wildlife, RFS and the CFA.... We were lucky enough to get a chance to speak to Matt, here's what he had to say 'I wanted to help out financially but didn't want to just make a small personal donation... I wanted to contribute something big after seeing it on the news day in day out... I thought to myself I have a lot of connections in the fashion industry all around the world... I knew there was a lot of hype around this one t-shirt so I got together with Waves AU and we launched the website'
