20.01.2022 Today saw the final competition of the Foothills Comp for 2019. Held at our home station in The Basin. We had some awesome times during the season and it was great to see The Basin juniors take home the Grand Aggregate Award for 2019. As a team it great to see the whole team lift as our juniors took out several awards inc The Encouragement Award (Cody), Fastest 1Man (Bailey L), Fastest 4Y (Bailey L, Blake, Mitchell and Cody) and the Individual Aggregate (Bailey L). Well done team. Bring on Summer comp and State Championships. J

12.01.2022 Today we had our first Summer Comp for the season! After cleaning out a few cobwebs, our under 17's came second in two events!! 04.01.2022 We would like to welcome on board Tony and the team from The Acorn on board as a major sponsor of our Junior Brigade. Tony Eastwood had never been to The Acorn. But he saw an ad saying it was for sale and bought it the following day. That was November 2016 and the homely feel of the venue made an immediate impression on him. Since then Mr Eastwood, a first time venue owner, has been making his impression on The Basin venue. The English style venue has live music three ni...ghts a week and has attracted a steady crowd of customers packing out the forest road venue for a meal or a great night out enjoying the great hospitality. The biggest thing we hear is from people who say Ive lived here 30 years and cant believe this is in The Basin he said. In the 26 months since he took over, the venue has been renovated with the decking area also having been upgraded. The menu is described as a notch up from your regular pub meal and the music is tailored to a slightly older crowd, with 80s, blues and even five piece bands. Mr Eastwood, a former president of Montrose Football Club, said he had always wanted to get into hospitality and was happy to find somewhere with a good vibe. The Acorn is a big supporter of not only our Juniors but the The Basin Fire Brigade as a whole along with local sporting clubs. See more

01.01.2022 On Monday night we had the opportunity to train alongside The Basin Junior Fire Brigade - CFA. Here you can see us learning basic truck skills and going over a... scenario as if we were going to a Wildfire call.
