21.01.2022 NO NEW CASES: For the first time since June, no cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Victoria overnight. Melbourne’s 14-day average has dropped to just 3.6, prompting speculation Daniel Andrews will on Monday reveal the long-awaited next steps for Melbourne’s restriction easing. 21.01.2022 NOT A WIN FOR SMALL STUDIOS: Pilates and yoga instructors across the Bass Coast are frustrated with Sunday's easing of restrictions announcement as they are unable to open their studios due to the one person per eight square metre limit. The Yoga Stylist Annebelle van Tongeren said she is "dumbfounded at the lack of logic". "Gyms, pilates studios and yoga studios are being whacked by the pointy end of the stick in regional Victoria," she said. ... Wonthaggi Soulspace studio owner Nikki Dawn said she isn't sure how the "government expects small studios and small gyms to make this a viable solution". "I cannot understand it...this is crushing, this is literally devastating," Ms Dawn said. "We are doing everything right, it doesn't make any sense".

20.01.2022 SMOKE IN AREA: Wonthaggi CFA have notified that there will be a registered burn off today at the Wonthaggi Pony Club from approximately 4pm. It is expected that there will be some smoke visible in the area.

19.01.2022 DOUBLE DONUTS! Yesterday there were 0 local cases and one international case reported. 23,108 results were received with approximately 10,000 results delayed due to technical issues. One of the private pathology lab partners experienced a technical outage delaying negative test results to some individuals. The outage does not affect the total positive cases reported. ... The outage is being restored and these results are expected to be reported in tomorrow’s update.
