Thank you to our wonderful cast for being so supportive of our COVID protocols and being considerate of one another’s well being. Rehearsals may feel a little odd at times ... but there’s not a great deal about this year hasn’t been odd!! ... Afterall, a good percentage of everyday life is an improvisation ... and we’re all doing the best job we can

22.01.2022 What a glorious Sunday afternoon in the beautiful gardens of Abercrombie House The Bathurst Shakespeare Players are busy preparing our production .. albeit under different circumstances. Our cast are rehearsing while meeting COVID guidelines as we know we are capable of providing safe entertainment in our beautiful setting!... Some choreography changes and perhaps oddly distant interactions required but it’s all in care for each other’s well being. Life goes on ... and we can all be sensible & restrained enough to allow us to all enjoy the things we love Looking forward to sharing this talent and hard work with Bathurst ... x

20.01.2022 Hello everyone, Many thanks for the audition videos sent in - lovely to see familiar faces, along with quite a few new ones! I have another one expected in over the next few days, then we'll begin to look at various roles and potential call backs required. We could do with a few more men to be involved - so if you're considering Shakespeare and will have a little time on your hands - it's the perfect opportunity to get involved in a great project and learn some lines :-)

10.01.2022 Wow - what a wonderful first week of shows Huge WELL DONE to our cast and crew, and THANK YOU to our supportive audiences. We do hope to see many more of you for our FINAL 3 SHOWS this coming week. 07.01.2022 So ... what an unusual year we are experiencing! And there is still no definitive answers to ongoing questions about things returning to ‘normality’. However - like many groups and individuals affected by the current situation - the beautiful energy, commitment and talent of our wonderful cast is so uplifting. We have been rehearsing various scenes around 3 times a week at present and the ease with which that has occurred is a testament not only to the talent but also the attitude and consideration of those involved. I am so excited to bring ROMEO & JULIET to fabulous Abercrombie House and the people of Bathurst through these lovely artists x

We hope you are all well and finding fabulously creative outlets with which to fill your time :-) I seem to be one of those who backlog of jobs, and trio of energetic little munchkins, has meant I certainly haven't been bored! I can assure you that Casting for Romeo & Juliet has not been forgotten - we've had additional videos coming in (and still on the lookout for more males if anyone is interested!). In the meantime, to whet your R & J appetite... - it is currently being featured in The Globe Players free streaming! Also - Thank you Brett Van Heekeren for advising about the National Theatre's free streaming of Twelfth Night. I'll certainly try to catch that one.
