10.01.2022 Through the generosity of the sponsors and the corporate teams that participated in 2019 Golf Day and the Mornington Race Club community at the 2019 Peninsula Cup, our new bus for The Bays Aged Care home has arrived. It is a brand new 12 seat Mercedes Sprinter van and will see The Bays residents get out and about in style. The van has been fitted with all the necessary hardware, including wheelchair access for two, to be comfortable, stylish and safe. Paul McKernan from Merce...des handed the keys over to The Bays CEO, Jade Phelan, with excited residents watching on. Without the 2019 Bays Charity Golf Day and the Mornington Race Club Peninsula Cup and Oaks Day tin rattle, this would not have been possible. We would like to thank our generous Golf Day sponsors and event partners, The National, I-Med Radiology, Melbourne Pathology, Devco, Mercedes-Benz Mornington, and Want a Sparky. We would also like to thank the Mornington Racing Club, their Foundation and the racing community who also contributed funds to this magnificent vehicle. The bus will be an excellent addition to The Bays residential aged care lifestyle program, which aims to enhance the quality of life for each resident. The Bays Director of Aged Care Services, Julie D’Arcy, said we believe activity and social engagement promoted health and wellbeing, and encourage each person to have fun and enjoy each day.’ Now the only thing left to decide is where to go first.

03.01.2022 The Pink Ladies Auxiliary are well known for their generosity, kindness and contribution to the community, and the wonderful team at The Bays Aged are no different. Christine has been volunteering at The Bays for the past four and a half years. She attended the Dialysis Unit with her sick husband and noticed the lovely flowers around the place and how they brightened up the rooms. Her hobby is gardening, and she thought this would be the perfect opportunity for a volunteer ...role. Christine’s role as Secretary of the Pink Ladies was an easy transition as she has had many years of experience in secretarial and administrative positions in Local Government. Christine would encourage anyone who has some spare time each month to become a Pink Lady. It doesn’t take much of your time, and the residents are so appreciative of the small vase of flowers in their room, and love to have a quick chat. The position is very rewarding, and the ladies are very supportive of each other. The Pink Ladies raise funds to support The Bays Aged Care Lifestyle team to buy much-needed nursing home equipment.
