24.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? 1917 was the year Edward H. Johnson passed away creator of the first electric Christmas tree lights, and vice-president of Thomas Edisons electric company. Johnson was the first to decorate his tree with the invention, which lit Christmas up in the colours we are accustomed to today. 1917 was also the year White Bay Power Station started full operations it was the longest serving of Sydneys metropolitan power stations, and coincidentally ceased production on Christmas Day in 1983. 04.01.2022 #BaysMarketDistrict | Over the next month, UrbanGrowth NSW will undertake geotechnical testing in Wentworth Park North and along Bridge Road, Glebe, to inform the transformation of the Bays Market District. Test results will help us understand ground conditions in the area to plan for the development of a new Sydney Fish Market at the head of Blackwattle Bay and its integration with Wentworth Park. These works will be carried out in accordance with approval conditions set out... by the City of Sydney Wentworth Park is owned by the Department of Industry Lands and is managed by the City of Sydney under a plan of management.
