Please read these 3 dot points and go to the atta...ched website for more information. Please be safe, practice all social distancing rules and 'be kind'. The Victorian Government recently announced that non-essential activities are required to shut down in Victoria and detailed the particular activities that are restricted. Farming and food production are not included in these restrictions. Under the Stay at home directions, people are permitted to leave home for work. An agricultural producer ensuring animal welfare is considered work and is allowed under the Stay at home directions. You can refer Beekeepers to the FAQs (look up FAQ Am I permitted to leave home to check animals under my responsibility or to purchase food or other necessary supplies for my animals?) published yesterday available at http://agriculture.vic.gov.au//coronavirus/agricultural-bu

02.01.2022 The committee would like to advise the following important information to all members of The Beekeepers Club Inc. We'll be in contact with more information to support you and your bees during the upcoming months. Stay safe & bee kind to all.... Covid-19 advice for all members of The Beekeepers Club Inc. Thursday, March 19th Meeting cancelled. On the basis of advice from the premier’s briefing meeting held on Monday 16th March, 9am, the committee has decided to cancel the March meeting, the March apiary opening and the Pure Peninsula Social Trip. The Beekeepers Club wants to make sure that we do all we can to take care of our members and visitors. We are putting measures in place to help our members and visitors feel comfortable, safe and well and the Committee would appreciate your support. This is an interesting and challenging time to navigate how to best service the members of the club, amid virus fears. Advice on public activities and gatherings is changing as the situation evolves. We have to consider the health of the members and visitors. Current advice is that public gatherings over 500 people are to be cancelled. This action is designed to avoid harm to the community, particularly for those people who are more vulnerable to this virus our elderly and those with chronic illnesses. Given that 151 people attended our February meeting, the committee agreed that bringing a significant number of people close together in a confined space is not worth the risk to our members and visitors. We are monitoring the changing situation and Federal and State Government advice. Regularly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, cough and sneeze into your elbow, and avoid touching your face. Further information can be found on the Victorian Government website: www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus We will keep you updated as things unfold and change. What we must not forget in this time of uncertainty is to treat each other with some kindness.
