13.01.2022 Hi All Firstly welcome to 2016 I hope all players and families are safe and well after the xmas break and more importantly after the recent weather events. As everyone is aware of the past couple of days Maitland, Newcastle, Dungog, Cessnock and Port Stephens have recorded almost 300mm of rain from the East Coast Low which parked itself off the Newcastle and mid north Coast, this weather event resulted in low lying flooding, roads and rail access cut off and many homes in-u...ndated with water. While the sun appears to be poking its head out and wind picking up there is still the chance of more rain between now and the weekend. The Association along with the relevant councils have a duty of care to players and property to prevent injury and damage for all parties involved and as a result and in consultation with grounds and fixtures committee who has already received a number of cancellations the Board has taken the decision (the first I can remember) in CANCELLING ALL MATCHES SET DOWN FOR THIS WEEKEND THE 9TH OF JANUARY 2016. This Action is not taken likely and it has been done NOT to rob people of a game but to ensure everyone is safe and is not forced to attempt to drive to grounds where they may be subject to water inundation or play on grounds still water logged and risk injury. This is NON_NEGOTIABLE and all one-day matches will be given wash out points with two-day games reduced to a one day match next weekend. Can you all please pass this onto players as soon as possible.
