17.01.2022 News from the MEADERY!! Maroochydore State High School recently held a Food and Drinks Festival as part of their Hospitality Course assessment. Amrita Park Meadery was very happy to help out a couple of outstanding students that wanted to food pair with MEAD. The two hits of the festival where San Choy Bow paired with Citrus & Chai Spiced MEAD and Garlic & Chillie Prawns Paired with Ginger & Lime MEAD. Well done and congratulations on an awesome event.... The first of the MEAD AUSTRALIA Vlogs was fimed last Sunday and should be available on the MA website soon, it is short and sweet, we will post a link as soon as it hits the site. Spring has sprung and there is an amazing amount of blooms all over the MEADERY Gardens, the BEES are loving it and they have been very busy, Our first Honey pickup for the year is happening this weekend!! 13.01.2022 News from the MEADERY! Another hectic and awesome week for us at Amrita Park MEADERY. We have a small batch of traditional MEAD underway that is being created with a very very dark boodwood & heliotrope honey from the Gympie region, this one will be on the sweeter side when it eventually hits the shelves. We also attended the Slow Food Noosa luncheon at Peppers Resort for presentation of Snails of approval for more local businesses and crazy good food from Matt Golinski usin...g all the local produce as usual Work continues on the bee gardens with another 160 native plants now in the ground (and a few blisters on the hands) The bees are feasting on all the flowering fruit trees at Amrita Park including the macadamia flowers and lychee flowers that are in abundance. Exciting times, it has been A busy month bottling a couple of new Meads for you all First we have our Mango Mead now available online, this MEAD is proving very popular at the cellar door with its subtle & earthy mango notes.... Our first Pyment made with local Noosa Honey and Semillon grapes. My personal favorite at the moment The 2020 release Joboticaba has hit the shelves. As usual it is exceptional with a perfect fruity balance of sweet and tart rounded off with a light french oaking. We also have the super smooth Chai spiced MEAD & the new Oaked Traditional that has been aging on whole Vanilla beans, both in limited numbers. All available online and at the cellar door where you can have a free tasting on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm so grab yourself a treat or the perfect Christmas gifts. 04.01.2022 NEWS FROM THE MEADERY Last week we had the privilege of attending the very flashy Noosa Open Studios "Soiree Moon Mountain" event and providing MEAD to attendees. An amazing mix of local high end Art, Fashion and stunning local Food created following SLOW FOOD principles. (Even more special with MEAD) A string Quartet provided an air of sophistication that highlighted the beautiful property and set off an outstanding afternoon. Guests included the Tourism Noosa CEO Melanie ...Anderson, Mayor of Noosa Clare Stewart and of course Martin "Sunshine Coast Foodie" Duncan. Keep an eye out for the upcoming Noosa Open Studios trail, it will be excellent Work continues on the Amrita Park Bee Gardens, hundreds of native plants and trees are looking pretty healthy and the BEES are looking happy. We have another Noosa Tourism event next week were we get the opportunity to teach the Tourism volunteers all about MEAD and Amrita Park. We absolutely love these events If you do not follow the Abbey Medieval Festival on social media you are definitely missing out, these guys are running promotions, collaborations, raffles and events all the time that are soooooo good, check them out and follow, you won't be disappointed!
