Please keep an eye out for any WA Government announcements from Mark McGowan or at www.wa.gov.au if the post-lockdown situation changes though.... The Cowaramup Transfer Station will be open to dispose of bulk green waste from 8am to 2pm tomorrow. You can dispose of up to 2 cubic metres of garden waste for free.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to our community for recycling a whopping 292kg of fluorescent lighting tubes By recycling your old fluorescent lights you are helping to protect the environment from the nasty effects of mercury which can leak into the air, soil and waterways if not disposed of properly. Just one fluoro tube contains enough mercury to pollute 30,000 litres of water These old lights can now be recycled, with their mercury, aluminium and phosphor destined for new products. if you have fluorescent lights to dispose of, you can take them to the Davis Road tip to be recycled for free.

All of your food scraps can go in the FOGO bin, including fruit, vegetables, bread, meat, bones and leftovers. So can grass clippings, flowers, weeds, herbs, small branches and leaves.... You can also put paper, tissues, and cardboard in (such as used kitchen paper towels and pizza boxes).
