09.01.2022 So our week away wasn’t as I imagined (cue husband making a ‘chainsaw massacre’ of his ankle and leg, as the orthopaedic surgeon put it, in a football accident) but it was cherished time with family and friends none the less. And I DID finally find the time to sit and read @anna_rhythmkeeper book. So here’s my favourite page I dog-eared, It is rare in this world to meet a person who is truly content. Not just occasionally content but a deep abiding peace... The peace of a person who falls asleep easily and wakes with excitement. Who toils effortlessly and joyfully. A person who can’t help but love no matter the circumstances... Happy Sunday

My parents wrote me a letter to read on the morning of our wedding so if you’ve got 5, there’s a whole lot of goodness below from two of the best, who’ve been married for 39 years. ...We want to share some advice as you marry the man of your dreams. Always see your Husband as your best friend. ... Take as many opportunities as you can to tell each other how much you love and respect one another. Remember that respect can mean appreciating another’s viewpoint, so don’t stifle him and don’t let him stifle you. Be fun but be real. Appreciate him for the man he is and the man he will become. Have fun together. Find new and exciting ways to experience life. Set goals that you both want, and you’ll enjoy the journey with a companion. Remember your commitment, because things will get hard. It is those difficult times that most strain a relationship, so always remember to find the rainbow after the storm. Promise each other to look for the best in each other every day. Focus on what is strong in your marriage and not what is wrong. A happy marriage is a willingness to live with things you can’t change. Promise to take care of the love you’ve created and treat it as your most valuable treasure on earth. A happy marriage is a shared history that is cherished. Promise to honour your similarities and your differences. This is what attracted you to each other in the first place. Promise you will hold each other close, so nothing in the world comes between you. A happy marriage is built on trust and a balance of dependence on each other. Your Dad and I share an unspoken trust that we are there for each other 100 percent, no matter what. Promise to love each other more than your children. A happy marriage focuses on the strong union between a husband and a wife. Your children are an expression of your love for each other. Stand by each other when either of you disciplines your children. You need to be a united front for your kids. Disagree in private when the kids are in bed.
