25.01.2022 To bid or not to bid? ... That is the question Deciding whether to go or not go for a full tender or Expression of Interest is more than just wanting the job. Winning the wrong job can actually worse than waiting for the right job to come along. Unfortunately we can’t consult our magic 8 ball either as much as we’d like to! We have to size up a few things:... 1. How much time will you spend working on the submission? If you’re time poor, reconsider submitting at all. A poorly coordinated tender may be memorable in the wrong way. And if you’re already too busy, your client will sense this. 2. Are you actually capable of doing the work? If you’re not confident in your business’ ability then how do you expect to convince the client? 3. Do you know the client? It’s okay not to. But if your answers to 1 and 2 show that you don’t have the time nor the qualifications/experience, then your tender submission may set off the introduction on the wrong foot. Choosing not to bid on a project will let you focus your attention on the right projects for you. Your business and employees will build confidence as you gain the business that’s right for you.

24.01.2022 We know that a picture says 1000 words - but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t say anything! Tender assessors and potential clients are often time poor and may skim large volumes of text. A quick and clear bid submission is a sure way around this. Graphics attract the eye and captions allow you to add your spin or interpretation. Importantly, captions do not leave your client to draw conclusions. To clearly express your graphic, include a caption with the following: 1. A rel...evant title 2. Explanatory text ie. How does this image relate to your ability to service the client? The last-minute dull caption may be easier, but the extra effort and time spent formulating effective sell points within the caption will be valuable. Once a point is made in the caption, it does not need to be repeated in the body text this gives you an opportunity to go into further detail there now that your caption has drawn the reader in!
