18.01.2022 Big shout out to the wonderful team at Roma Transport & Crane Services. Our treasured EMSCO Rig had a little beauty crisis at 30m this morning and thanks to the swift actions of this wonderful local business we didn't have to cancel any of our afternoon or evening tours. 18.01.2022 We can guarantee these delicious, locally made, caramelised onions won't last long, so don't dilly-dally and grab yourself a jar pronto #thinklocalfirst
16.01.2022 Big Rig Fun Fact Diary entries from Roma Rigger John Machado suggest wages were as low as 5 quid a week for the men working on Hospital Hill, Roma in 1930. In the 1920's, prior to the Great Depression, a Head Driller like John was probably earning around 15 quid a week so they definitely would have been feeling the pinch during those early years of the 1930's.

Thank you :-)

15.01.2022 On these freezing cold Roma mornings it is worth remembering the pioneering men who worked on the rigs back in the 1920's. It would have been a tough old life. This photo was Roma Oil Corporation, Number one. (Hospital Hill), Roma, 1927. Caption under photo: Placing hammer over anvil. (Similar Steam Hammer is located at The Big Rig Oil Patch Museum).... Nixon Collection (The Big Rig Archives). Thank you Thallon Keegan for making these fantastic images available to share and enjoy
