18.01.2022 Sitting at a screen all day doesn’t inspire me in the slightest. It’s just where the final work is done. For me the moments that are lived and experienced in between are what fill my cup up with motivation and inspiration to create. Like those times exploring and observing details of a town that blends (or clashes) its contemporary touches with the old. Or the stillness when you stand in awe of the sky lighting up momentarily as we transition into a new part of the day. Or ...how a single conversation can give you that extra spark to persevere. I’m starting to better own the fact that it’s a part of my creative process to make the space to continually expand and evolve That means more weekends filled with adventures and company of loved ones. Mornings getting out of the house before work for walks. Booking yoga classes to end the day. Making the time to cook a good meal for dinner. And anything else that lights me up Because when I feel good, that’s when the magic creativity hits. To businesses or individuals who acknowledge areas of improvement and vow to take action moving forward, thank you! To those who promise to never let an inappropriate comment slip by and have those confronting conversations, thank you!... For the people helping elevate marginalised voices/creatives/businesses, thank you! If you’re making time to look within and educate yourself through the endless resources (podcasts, films, books, articles and events) thank you! Each decision and effort made with positive intention will help shift this world towards one where we are all seen and treated as equal. 11.01.2022 Tropical Tuesday unchosen concepts I finished Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert earlier in the year and I think I need to get it on audible now so I can just have it looping in the background for the rest if my existence. She summarised creativity and all its ebbs and flows in a way that captured everything that I’d been feeling. 02.01.2022 Coffee up and pug on guard. Ready for another working week ahead! I had to take a little TB insta hiatus there for a couple of weeks. And I’m so glad I did. When the work is overflowing and getting a bit much I find it super helpful to step away from this and be present with the people and spaces that help light me up in between the to-do list. #bindinghome
