25.01.2022 As women, we should be supporting each other . I can't believe women are saying this kind of stuff to other women. . In this case, this was a matter of life and death and c-section was advised by health professionals.... . It doesn't matter how you birth, may that be naturally, emergency c-section or even a planned c-section.... YOU ARE A MOTHER! . YOU SPENT 9 MONTHS GROWING YOUR BABY YOU WENT THROUGH LABOUR YOU GAVE BIRTH YOUR BABY - NO MATTER HOW! . I was BORN by emergency c-section and my mother is a MOTHER! An amazing mother at that! . This is why I decided to start working on my own mobile small business to support pregnant women with Prenatal Yoga - to provide support throughout ever stage, even birth..... And I'll be doing postnatal training in November. . If you would like more information PM me. . See more

24.01.2022 A BLESSING IN DISGUISE . This is my forth week #stayingathome and #workingfromhome . Yes, it was hard to lose work hours and be forced to stay home but there was a silver lining... . I am so very grateful to have a home to feel safe in I am so very grateful that I was able to adapt my work to be done at home I am so very grateful to have more time for myself . I have been absolutely loving going from relaxing on the lounge to popping in the office to work and finishing up with a cuppa in the lounge again. I have more time to cook and clean and spend quality time with my partner and fur baby . I truly miss seeing my work colleagues and clients but I think this was a nice #staycation (though I do not like the reason why) . While you are home, take the time to see the positives in this situation as we tend to get caught up in the negative. Let go of what doesnt serve us any good. . Lets not go back to our old ways and use this time in how we can improve ourselves and health of the beautiful planet we live on. . Love V #theblueyogiperth See more

22.01.2022 R U OK? . Ive always supported this initiative and this organisation provides great information . So what do you do after asking if someone is ok? Please read @ruokday further down the post.... . I was always a little unsure and thats why I did my Mental Health First Aid course this year. . This infographic is pretty much what I learnt and I highly recommend to get familiar with these steps and pass it onto your family, friends and workplace. . I remember when R U OK? first came out and my old workplace was told to share these with their staff and ask the question "Are you ok?" and they just laughed . This is no laughing matter as those 3 little words can save someones life! Laughing can push someone to do something stupid (trust me, I know) . LISTEN ENCOURAGE CHECK IN . Love V #theblueyogiperth . #Repost @ruokday (@get_repost) Its #RUOKDay, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. 18.01.2022 TOUGH WEEK AHEAD . Today is the first week where I only work 3 hours a week at home . I feel I need structure otherwise Ill become lazy and be on a Netflix binge... . 16.01.2022 MENTAL HEALTH . Yesterday I did my first ever Mental Health First Aid with @stjohnwa and highly recommend taking the course . I learnt so many new things and was very impressed to see some yoga aspects included... . There are some important points I felt are quite valuable to pass on: Mental Health is not a bad thing. In fact, here is the definition from WHO: "...A state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her organisation" . Mental Health starts with stress and when that stress hits our tipping point we can fall into anxiety, panic, depression and suicide . I want you to remember the acronym C.A.R.E. The main point of Mental Health First Aid is to show you care: Call to act - recognise signs and symptoms Action - start a conversation and support the person to seek help Reach Out - Check in how they are in 1-2 days Energise - Engage in self-care activities. Youll be no help if you dont take care of yourself . If this post has cause any issues please call Lifeline 13 11 14 or you can private message me and Ill be able to assist. . 15.01.2022 NEVER GIVE UP . I thought I'll never be able to do this pose as my wrist just can't bear my weight . I avoided these asanas, not because they didn't serve a purpose, but because I feared them... . And therefore I came to realise this asana does has a purpose in my practice . Not strength Not flexibility But CONFIDENCE . I built my wrist strength up and now was the time to push past the fear . And on my journey the view was great; a surge of happiness and proudness flowed through . I also came to realise, this was happening in my everyday life too. I was building my yoga career at the start of the year and it was going nowhere due to fear and finally last week I launch my new mobile private yoga business . I do fear the future but I'm much more relaxed and just let life flow on . 14.01.2022 SLOW DOWN . This year was about finding my flow. I discovered that I love a good vinyasa flow; fast but steady. Then I tried yin and I struggled so hard to move slowly and I definitely struggled to sit still during a meditation where I hadnt done movement prior. . I learnt that we live in such a face paced society where we are wanting or planning the next thing and not truly appreciating about being in the present moment.... . As quoted by @yogaaustralia which was perfectly said: "We dont have to be constantly doing. We can simply...be. . We dont have to be always thinking. We can simply...observe. . We dont have to participate. We can...opt out." . My practice is all about slowing down and enjoying the journey your body and mind is experiencing. Giving your body the chance to pause, slow down and be still. In this moment we can simply be present. . Pausing, slowing down or stillness can be uncomfortable as this is where thoughts and feelings are really heard and felt. It takes time and practice to learn to just observe those thoughts and feelings, label them and then let them float away. . I like to say when something happens or something is said , to not react but give time to respond in the appropriate manner. Apply this in the same way. . Some things require appropriate action while others just need to be let go. . Slow Down. Observe. Be Present . Love V #theblueyogiperth See more

08.01.2022 An Eternal Flame Meditation . For my pre-natal course I have to come up with a meditation so this is what I have been working on: . I love a good candle lit meditation so... lets bring our focus to the present moment . Imagine the flame is your babys soul: it lights up the room, its bright, beautiful and memorising . Now bring your gaze to your belly and know that, that light, that soul is shining within you . This is the only time when there are 2 souls within one body, united together . You eat together, sleep together, listen together, go out together, do everything together . And remember, even after giving birth you are still connected together through love . 08.01.2022 STRENGTH . Chaturanga Dandasana is not an easy pose especially after a wrist injury . This has taken me over a year to work back up to, and even today I tend to struggle at times... . To work on this pose, dont just do arm strength but also work on your wrists . Here are a few stretches and exercises: Stretches Wrist glides Wrist extension stretch Wrist rolls (both directions) Thread the needle Arm circles (both directions) Exercises Sunbird Supported push ups High plank - can add shoulder taps Downdog to high plank . Try to aim for 3 times a week, 2-3 sets for exercises, 6-10 reps for moving exercises, 30-60 second holds for non-moving exercises See more
07.01.2022 BALANCE . This week has been all about balance . After being sick, I felt like my energy was off balance, so I needed to get into tune with my body again... . One amazing technique to get back into balance is Nadi Shodhana Pranayama - Alternate Nostril Breathing . 1. With your right hand, place pointer and middle finger to Third Eye, thumb to right nostril, pinky and ringer finger bend and place ring finger knuckle to left nostril 2. Block the left nostril, inhale through right, block right, open left, exhale left 3. Inhale left, block left, open right, exhale right 4. Go for 5-10 rounds . Love V #theblueyogiperth See more

07.01.2022 HOW TO RELIEVE NAUSEA . Those first couple of months of pregnancy is not fun for some . Nausea is a common symptom for pregnancy in the first trimester... . To help relieve nausea symptoms place pressure with a yoga block, end of a bolster or a book between your eyebrows; this is on your Third Eye . To prevent causing nausea in yoga, it is best to avoid downdogs, forward folds and lunges . To modify your yoga practice, instead of downdogs come into Childs pose. Skip forward folds and just do halfway lifts. When in lunges, place hands on top of blocks to bring the spine up and straight. . The rule of thumb is to keep the head above the heart / . . .
