24.01.2022 Hi lovelies! I thought I would write a bit about myself and my makeup journey as I often get asked how I got into wedding makeup Since the age of about 3, I always wanted to do hair and makeup-always giving my barbie dolls makeovers and using any hand me down makeup to paint my face with lol ... When I finished school at 17, I had already worked at a hair salon as a junior but felt like beauty was my calling so I began my Diploma of Beauty Therapy which included all aspects of beauty and my passion for makeup began to grow I completed my Diploma and worked in beautiful salons and spas in Perth and added to my training with Napoleon Perdis makeup training. I learned so much with this training and really felt like makeup was my calling A few years later I completed my Cert 2 in Training and Assessment and began a part time lecturing career at a large and reputable Perth beauty college. I truly loved this job and I taught all aspects of beauty but the makeup units were my favourite! I then took a bit of a break as I welcomed my beautiful daughter and son in 2013 and 2015. Motherhood kept me very busy and fulfilled When my youngest was just over 1year old I decided it was time for me again and time to reignite my passion for beauty, creating and just being around lovely people so I took a leap and created The Blushing Bride with the intentions that I could provide the Brides to be of Perth with natural yet glamorous looking makeup and pre wedding beauty needs. It has been 4 years and I am so grateful for the way my little business has grown and developed. It makes me so happy that I can live my dream of work life balance while doing something that I absolutely love and am proud of! 22.01.2022 SPRAY TAN PREPPING We all know that a spray tan is the only way to go when wanting that sun kissed glow and with spring just around the corner I want to share step by step how to prepare for your spray tan. Book your spray tan 1-2days before your event and at a time that will be convenient to keep dry (no hand washing, doing dishes, excessive sweating etc) till your shower time which is usually 1-3hours after your tan is applied (depending on tanning so...lution) If you wax legs, underarm, face etc, do this more than 24hours before your tan appointment. Arrive to your tan appointment freshly showered, legs & underarms shaved and with no deodorant, perfume, makeup or moisturisers applied to your face or body. Wear loose dark clothing and open footwear (no socks). I also recommend not to wear a bra after the tan is applied to avoid strap marks. Wear the provided disposable underwear during your tan to minimise tan lines-especially if you will be wearing a bikini once your tan has developed. 10.01.2022 Hey lovlies As of Feb 1st I’ve decided to set some allocated hours for my work tasks. This year will be a bit different for me as it’s the first time in 7 years that I won’t have children home with me every day (both at school full time) which means I’ll have more time in the week during day time hours to spend doing admin and I’ll be opening up Thursday afternoons for beauty treatments or trials too. ... Having the kiddies both at school also means that Sunday will be the only day I’ll have fully with them so I will be off line on Sundays but still take the occasional bridal booking I always aim to get back to enquire as fast as possible and I will still do this but I will most likely leave invoicing, timeline planning, receipts etc for my allocated admin days.
