21.01.2022 There is often a good reason for different types of pains in pregnancy. They are warning sings; your body telling you something isn’t quite right. Even the shooting ligament pain you have at the front when you stand up too quickly or which stops you in your tracks while you’re walking. This is a stretch of the ligament that attaches your uterus to your pelvis it has to stretch to accommodate the growing baby. Yes, that is a normal pain of pregnancy but not if it’s consistently only occurring on one side. That can be your body sending you a warning signal that perhaps your uterus isn’t sitting centrally within your pelvis and if you read my Pelvic alignment blog, you’ll find out just how imperative this is. 07.01.2022 NEW BLOG UP! We spend our entire lives trying NOT to fall pregnant. Often having a slight pang of anxiety if our period is a day late. Then when the time comes when we are ready to start a family, it can be quite perplexing when it doesn’t happen straight away. And many women assume that there must be something wrong. But what if you’ve been trying to fall pregnant all this time outside of your fertile window? For some women, their fertile window and ovulation don’t actuall...y match up! And they’ve been having intercourse a few days too late or too early. This is why it is so important to understand YOUR cycle. Check out my new blog all about tracking YOUR cycle and learn about what actually goes on during your cycle, and how to interpret and take advantage of the messages your body is trying to send you. As well as lifestyle factors that may be hindering your chances of falling pregnant! @duvet_days

04.01.2022 There are so many factors that contribute to fertility. And for some women, the day they ovulate may not be the best day for intercourse if they’re trying to conceive. That is why I have an issue with people relying so heavily on ovulation tests instead of listening to what their body is trying to tell them. Read more about this on my blog understanding YOUR menstrual cycle. Link in bio

04.01.2022 NEW BLOG UP! Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction SPD. This particular issue is one of my favourites to work with. It can be debilitating to say the least but if caught early enough, can be stopped in it’s tracks. SPD is characterised by pain at the pubic joint, in the centre - right above your groin. Some people may have more pain on one side or the other but the majority present with central pain. (See video of pubis.) This joint is very narrow and made of cartilage. It is designe...d to be flexible enough to allow for movement of your pelvic bones. But if that movement becomes excessive or there is too much pressure on it from structures above, it can be a source of excruciating pain. And in worst cases, can tear completely leading to complete bed rest for the rest of pregnancy. Find out more about SPD, what causes it and how you can avoid it in my blog.
