ArtsLab is Shopfront Arts Co-op’s @shopfrontarts annual artist in residency program for early career artists aged 18 26 working across dance, visual art, theatre, film, music, performance, digital art and more. The residency offers six-months of free space, resources, networking opportunities and mentorship to pursue a creative project - jump on it! Our re-imagined festival will showcase vital, engaging, and exciting live works in these challenging times. We want you to know that Bondi Festival 2020 will have agile and responsive programming that adheres to social distancing requirements and keeps our audiences and artists safe.... 14.01.2022 Sometimes you gotta be responsible The team at Bondi Festival have made the decision to postpone Bondi Festival to winter 2021. The decision to postpone the event planned for 26 September 10 October 2020 followed a review of the most up-to-date advice regarding COVID-19 restrictions. ... We were so excited to be bringing people together again to celebrate the arts, to see the weird and the wonderful, to bring joy to our community and to support the economies of our festival industry and the local community. However, the health and safety of our community is our top priority and we feel we need to be part of the solution, ensuring that were doing everything we can to minimise the spread of COVID-19. In this case, that means cancelling this years event. We explored putting on a completely virtual Festival, but Bondi Festival is intrinsically tied to the iconic suburb in which it takes place. The feeling and experience of Bondi Festival just wouldnt translate online as well as we would like it to. That being said, were not going anywhere. Were like that friend you keep trying to catch up with, but always need to reschedule. Well see you in winter 2021. Art and culture in Bondi isnt going anywhere and Bondi Festival is on a mission to bring it to you. Were already devising a thrilling offering for next years event, and with more time to prepare we are going to make it a truly spectacular experience rain, hail, pandemic or shine . In the meantime, were also looking at opportunities to continue to celebrate our incredible arts scene with online events for Festival fans. Stay tuned.
