25.01.2022 Life in The Bracket Man village has been in preparation for Xmas....much like the rest of you as well no doubt. Tidying up the garden, the house, the wife-no I am kidding on that last one. Sent out Xmas cards this week to my current & previous clients wishing all a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year. I am now extending that wish to all my facebook contacts. 15.01.2022 As Christmas is so close, I thought I would share my Scottish Grandma's Shortbread Recipe. She told me when she was young it was their family's Christmas Cake cos fruit cake was too expensive. This recipe has been passed down our family for several generations. 1 lb. butter (soft enough that your finger makes a reasonable dent) 1 lb. sugar... 1 lb. Flour Cream butter and sugar. Then add flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Mix well and knead thoroughly. The more you knead, the tastier the shortbread will be. Get the kids in on helping you do this - more fun. Pat the dough into a round or square shape to approx 25 mm thickness on your baking tray (don't roll it or grease the pan; the dough is rich enough). Prick with a fork all the through, top to bottom, in a design if you want to. Bake in 150 degree C (very slow) oven for 45 mins approx. Don't let shortbread get overly brown on top. Cut while it is hot into squares, oblong shapes and let cool - it tastes better!!! Should look like pictures below..... enjoy this family recipe.

08.01.2022 Hi, I just spent a few days in the Acute Surgical Unit at Freo Hospital. They and the people in ER are an awesome bunch of people. I am now minus one appendix!!! I just wanted to say how much I valued their commitment and thoroughness to their work. The Nurses - very caring and proficient. The Surgical Doctors - amazing knowledge and great bedside manners. Ward staff, orderlies, cleaners- all very helpful. I was treated with much care, deep respect and professionalism. I am so very grateful to you all. Remie Watkins
