11.01.2022 Breakfast Club pinup boy Francesco Castelli is leaving town for a while. Tonight he was supposed to play an extended live stream, however with the current conditions this was just not possible. Words cannot do justice to how much love and appreciation we have for you Franco, how you light up the room whenever you walk in and how you tear the roof down whenever you play.... We’ll be waiting with bated breath for your return. Until next time brother

03.01.2022 If you will, allow us to tell you a little story... The Breakfast Club has always been just a humble collective of folk who never really wanted to go home from the rave. In the winter of 2014 we were fed up with having kickons at our houses on Monday mornings so we went and moved the party to a bar. ... That bar was the Melbourne underground’s spiritual home of Killing Time. Less than a year later we outgrew that home and started doing day parties in a small little courtyard on Commercial Road, at a bar called Less Than Zero. Within no time the police were up their ass for noise complaints so we had to move again. Cue 161. At 161 our little kickon turned into a movement. The foundations for a community became set and before we knew it, we were The Breakfast Club. A Melbourne must see renowned for its fresh outlook on this sacred institution we call party.. Fast forward 5 years and we’re killing it. A line down the street every Monday morning and nothing but smiles and LOVE greeting us at every turn. Then the pandemic happened, and like all of our colleagues in the scene, we were left with nothing. All of a sudden 300 Monday parties in a row meant nothing. Stay at home they said. Social distance they said. Raves like ours, overnight, instantly became the pariahs of society. What could we do? We waited. We bided our time. We hoped to one day get back to what we do best, providing the soundtrack to our community. Once everything calmed down and the dust had settled we soon realised that the past would not be our future. We had to adapt in this new post pandemic world. We started doing sit down parties. We started doing small dance parties.. We had to try whatever we could for our community and for our music. Without a place to call home we kept at it. Praying that soon, a new venue would pop up, allowing us to get back to business. And then it did. The largest, most underrated space in Prahran presented itself and asked us aboard. That venue is called the Emerson. And today we would like to announce it as our new home. A 300 person capacity rooftop right in the heart of Prahran. Recently under new management and allowing us to shape a new vision within its storied walls. The rebuild of this new home of ours is going to take some time. It’s going to take some patience. But soon we hope to make this a world beating space, unlike anything anyone of us has ever seen. So here it is, our new home. Still a work in progress but a shining star on the horizon of what we hope will be the most exciting chapter yet in this little story of Monday party. BC #303 (THE RETURN EDITION)
