25.01.2022 This fine specimen was released in September, the 1000th batch from Launceston based brewers @morrison_brewery. . A brilliant English IPA, this beer is a study in balance, with caramel and biscuit malt flavours in harmony with aromatic Old World hops. . It’s all gone now, but keep an eye out for Morrison beer, they make a great mix of modern and traditional styles.

21.01.2022 The stills at Hunnington Distillery really give meaning to the term micro distillery. They’re used to produce a terrific range of award winning vodka, gin and whisky in Kettering, just outside of Hobart. . We’ll be visiting Deadman’s Point Spirits as part of our upcoming Huon Valley Tour, in which you’ll also be able to taste and learn about the cider and eau de vie produced in the heart of apple production in the Apple Isle! . 16.01.2022 You might’ve already seen some of their beers splashed around on Instagram, but @foxfridaybrewery are fast becoming one of the best known purveyors of #hazy juice in the country. Brewing on a small setup in Moonah, in the northern suburbs of Hobart, you’ll see some fantastically well made beers overflowing with hop character. One of the only reliable places to find @thewinstonbrewingco beers (and the fantastic @winstoncellars downstairs) The Winston Pale is a US style pale that packs a healthy punch from a combination of Tasmanian and US hops. Big citrus and resin hop character on the nose are followed up with grapefruit and some good old dank on the palate. Getting this beer #coldasice in the snow was a little too hard to resist at the top of kunanyi/ Mt. Wellington. . Ocho release an IPA to coincide with every season. The Spring release is a lovely hazy IPA, bursting with hop aromas of white grape, citrus and apricot, owing to generous amounts of Nelson Sauvin and Citra. . 03.01.2022 Finally made it down to @foxfridaybrewery last weekend. A quick pot of the H-Town Hazy was a real treat. I haven’t tried anything hopped with Sabro hops before, but the coconut character it brought was right at home in this beer. On another note, it’s so important that people support their local businesses at the moment. These places operate on tiny margins and really suffer when their income drops. 02.01.2022 The Pallidus Pale Ale is brewed by @theeleventhorderbrewery in New Norfolk, 40 minutes North of Hobart. They’ve recently started sharing space with the very exciting @newnorfolkdistillery on the grounds of the old Willow Court mental asylum. . In one of the few pieces of good news to come out of Covid-19, Eleventh Order have started canning more of their beers for distribution around the state, as they were unable to sell through their bar. .
