20.01.2022 PSPA declared, Bribie Island myPolice on Oct 1, 2020 @ 11:03am Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Bribie Island this morning as police respond to a serious incident. Officers were called to a residence in Kelliher Street, Rothwell around 8am today following reports of a serious assault.... Officers tracked a vehicle of interest to Bribie Island where the PSPA was declared at 10.45am. The PSPA encompasses Bigmulys St, Sylvan Beach Esplanade, Elkhorn Avenue and Eucalyptus St. Specialist police are on scene and members of the community are asked to avoid the area as they respond.
19.01.2022 Update 2: Wounding incident, Rothwell myPolice on Oct 2, 2020 @ 7:11am Police have charged two men after a woman was seriously injured in Rothwell yesterday.... It will be alleged a 27-year-old woman was injured and then left at a Kelliher Street address. She was transported to hospital where she remains in a serious condition. Investigations tracked a vehicle of interest to Bribie Island with police declaring an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at 10.45am with cordons put in place to assist with police searches. The PSPA was revoked at 2.05pm. A 27-year-old-man was located at Bellara at 3.45pm and charged with two counts of burglary and one count each of enter dwelling with intent, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a weapon. He will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today. A second 27-year-old man presented to police in Cleveland overnight and has been charged with grievous bodily harm, dangerous conduct with a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. He will appear before the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.

From 6pm tonight until 6pm Monday, residents in the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan and Redlands can only leave home for one of these four reasons: 1. To buy essentials like groceries or medications 2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home 3. Exercise... 4. Healthcare or to provide help, care or support 5. If you do go outside, masks in those areas will be mandatory 6. Children under 12 will be exempt from having to wear them 7. Funerals will be limited to 20 people, weddings 10 people 8.
