I’m obsessed with eyebrows and 2. I go home and analyse the sh*% out of every before and after which is fun for me I’ve been admiring the (amazing) photos done by Russian/Eastern European Brow Artists. They have the best brow photos! 25.01.2022 What’s the underbelly to an eyebrow? It’s the section that sits underneath the arch and makes up the bottom half of your brow. The 90’s eyebrow style is usually the culprit behind hacking into this section. Maybe women thought that if that section sat higher, it’d make their eyes appear more open? ... There are a lot of clients growing that part of their eyebrow back (including me). Can you see how in this pic there’s a little space where no hair grows just below the arch, especially on the left hand side? We’ve put henna there to stain the skin but we’ll leave that area to grow back. It might take a year -seriously. Maybe even two. Mine have taken a good three years and still not entirely there. I hear some of you say, Well stuff waiting three years and still not having all of the hair come back! I hear you but it’s worth it. You can use pencil or powder or pomade in that area while it returns. Henna helps to stain the skin, giving you an outline to follow at home and I do think henna can stimulate (a little) growth with regular applications over time. Also, when you’re growing back your brows, having regular shaping done helps you to see how well they are coming back and possibly stop you from over-tweezing at home. When your brows are going wild, it’s very hard to see the shape that can be put in there

21.01.2022 Any idea what this is? It’s a super zoomed in pic of what dehydrated skin looks like after it’s been coloured. I wanted to share this because it’s a really good example of why you should exfoliate the skin underneath your brow hairs (while exfoliating your face) and why moisturising twice a day is so important to get a smooth colour result and longer lasting colour. See how the skin is sitting a bit flaky in the pic? It’s because it’s lacking moisture. Skin is constantly ...renewing itself. By the time it hits the top layer, it’s flat, dehydrated and ready to fall off. Moisturising twice a day stops the skin sitting in that flaky fashion and plumps up those dead skin cells with hydration, making that renewal process go unnoticed. Try gently exfoliating the skin under and around your brow hairs a day or two before your next app and moisturise twice a day leading up to and after your next app. You’ll notice a big difference!! 17.01.2022 Just a little heads up January 2021 is almost full. Regular clients are making their apps for Jan/Feb/March. What I’ve decided to do is block out space each month (only) for my regulars who can’t book ahead like that. Maybe they’re shift workers or students or maybe their days off change regularly. I’ll do this as of February. ... I know it’s a bit mental how far ahead it’s booked out. I find it a bit hard to believe myself. I even go through the booking system sometimes after a couple of wines like, Is it REALLY booked that far in advance?? Just to double check I’ll always do my best to find a spot for everyone, especially those clients I’ve been seeing for over a year or years. 17.01.2022 I especially loved this transformation for a few reasons... The client wanted to keep her brows a really light colour and loves the wispy, brushed up look. She wanted a little more definition but not too much so it was fun to keep the shaping subtle and barely darken the brows Her lashes are naturally long so we used a larger rod for the lift which avoids the lashes sitting too far back on the skin above her naturally hooded eyes. Overhaul with wash of henna and Lash Lift with dye. #naturalbrows

15.01.2022 Big transformation for these brows using Lamination Because the middle and tail hairs grow downward, it makes the ends seem much thinner than the fronts. 14.01.2022 Three years ago when I was thinking (and let’s be honest also shitting myself) about starting The Brow Barn, someone I knew at the time said to me, No one will ever come to Cooran to have their brows done. I’ll never forget it. I didn’t take it on board because I was so determined to fulfil my dream of working for myself in the countryside but if I had of listened to her (and others who doubted me) maybe The Brow Barn wouldn’t exist..? ... This week in particular a few clients were chatting to me about their big dreams... Someone taking on a psychology degree at 38, someone who had massive surgery to lose weight and has become the healthiest and most positive she’s ever been from it, someone who is dreaming of an around Australia trip with her horses and someone who bought her second home (on her own) after surviving the suicide of her husband, bankruptcy and working her butt off for ten years.... Amazing. They all said something similar... Hard to ignore the doubters and self doubt but who are we to not live out our dreams?

14.01.2022 It really blows me away what lamination can do for brows This particular client gets frustrated with how blonde her brows are when the henna wears off and she wants fuller brows so bad, she’s contemplating tattooing. Lamination has straightened the hairs out making the brows appear fuller and also allowed us to change the direction that front bit sits in. Pretty much just to refresh the photos on the website and give me some different things to post on the page Gotta mention though that I spent the morning and week leading up to it DREADING the day because I hate being in front of a camera. (I should put HATE in capitals because it really makes me feel uncomfortable). Didn’t need to stress at all though.... Bec is really great at just getting on with what she’s doing and relaxing the vibe. By this photo I felt fine This morning I open up some pics she’s sent me and I’m so happy with them Was worth the dreaded anticipation in the end! 12.01.2022 Brow Lamination in progress.... Lamination is a 4 step process. First up I’m applying a solution that breaks down the bonds in the hair that make them sit the way they do. Then the second solution is applied to kinda lock them in place how we’ve styled them. Thirdly, your colour is applied and lastly, a nourishing oil. I laminated my brows earlier this week and I gotta say, I forgot how annoying I find them for the first two or three days! Not trying to put anyone off but ...I also don’t want anyone to have unrealistic expectations with the service. This following info will give you a bit more insight The hair itself hasn’t got the same softness that it usually does. The moisturising is super important. They feel dry as they’ve had a chemical process. This is completely fine, it doesn’t damage the hair but it does feel different to usual if you touch them. I give you some tips on how you can keep them nourished and the tools you need at your app. It’s weird seeing all the hairs straight and it really is a different look. Styled, wispy and fluffy. Even I feel a little like, Um I don’t know if this is me.... Until day 3, and then I really like them. And they HAVE TO BE brushed into place of a morning. Once they are brushed in place, yeah, they’ll stay like that all day and that’s definitely a perk. Especially if you have hairs that just won’t cooperate and like to stick out, grow down etc etc. In saying all that, this is what I like and clients say they like about lamination... Makes your brows look fuller. Makes them look sorta feather tattooed. Makes them easy to style. Once you’ve brushed them, they stay looking perfect all day. Any questions about lamination? 12.01.2022 Since going back to work after the COVID shutdown, I’m finding I’m booked 2 months in advance. Crazy, but amazing Please keep this in mind if you’re a regular. At the moment I’m fully booked until October. I don’t think it’s fair to take anymore people onto the wait list but I will let you all know when I open it back up. 12.01.2022 There will be a few slight changes to some of my pricing soon and there are a couple of new services that have been added recently. Because it’s almost booked for the rest of the year and clients booked with the current prices in mind, I’ve decided to bring these price changes in as of January 2021 because that’s only fair. The Eyebrow Overhaul will be $55 instead of $45. Returning Brows will remain the same but if it’s been a while and we need to do the same amount of work a...s an Overhaul, it will need to be the overhaul price. Lash Lift will be $80 alone or $100 with Lash Dye or Lash Tint. Henna will be $15 add on rather than $10. And a lash tint will be $20 rather than $16. Facial waxing and any other service I haven’t mentioned will remain the same. The two new services are Brow and Lash Dye. Highly pigmented and longer lasting than tint or henna. Both can be added onto a treatment. Brow Dye will be $20 and lash dye $25. Brow and lash dye prices will be effective straight away and if you’d like to change your henna or lash tint to one of these, it’s no problem, just contact me or let me know at your appointment. Because he’s from a rescue group we’re not sure of his exact age so we’ve made his 1st birthday today, one year since he came home with us As a puppy, he followed Milo’s lead and took on the role of a quiet shop dog so quickly and easily ... On top of that, he’s just the most awesome boy. So full of character. 11.01.2022 When I went in this week on my day off to do my own brows, I felt a little jealous of my clients... Just cause I wanna lay down and relax while someone (I trust) does my brows

11.01.2022 I see a lot of previously tattooed brows. Some great, some ok, some terrible. It kills me when I see the bad ones, it really does Can you see in the before pic that these brows have been previously tattooed? It’s great they’ve faded to an ashy colour quite similar to her natural hair. This particular client felt they sat uneven because of how they’ve faded in certain areas. Lamination and brow dye lifted the hair up which allowed us to kind of cover the old tattoo and crea...te a feathery look (which is why she initially chose microblading). There ARE some amazing brow tattooists out there but unfortunately they are few and far between If you’re considering brow tattooing, I’d really stress to do your research. Look at their HEALED results, not the straight after photo. Pretty much ALL after pics (especially of microblading) have crisp strokes. There’s nothing to say those crisp strokes won’t eventually blur, expand or turn a bluish or red tone in the skin later on. I think to avoid all of that is 100% down to the artist’s skill, experience and attention to detail. Here are some brow tattoo artists who I believe do great work and it heals beautifully. 07.01.2022 Did you know there are approximate guidelines for shaping brows? You might of seen some brow artists map out their clients brows with a pencil or dyed thread before shaping. It’s not something I do, I like to shape just by what I see with my eyes but this pic is a great example of the things I’m thinking about as I shape your brows. Where they should start? Arch? Finish? Is there any hair there to incorporate into the ideal shape and thickness and these approximate guide...lines? Does it suit you to have the brow start in line with your inner nostril or should we move it out a bit? Do you like a higher or more subtle arch? 07.01.2022 You’ll see that I post a lot of mature women’s brows as well as the younger women on my page I do this because: 1. All women are beautiful in their own way. Young, middle aged or older. ... 2. With each age group the brows vary in hair texture, shape, sparseness, maybe there’s extra long hairs, greys and everything in between. 3. I would never want older women looking at my work thinking, it’s just a young thing to do, I couldn’t benefit from that. Seeing you guys light up because your greys are covered, we made your brows even or slightly fuller or maybe we made your lashes look longer or darker. 06.01.2022 Hey I’m Ash, the face behind The Brow Barn. I think it’s nice to see the face behind the posts when I’m looking at other pages so here I am putting my mug on here and telling you a little bit about me ... I started the studio three years ago because I longed for creative freedom and it was a dream of mine to work for myself. Also, I could never find the environment I wanted to work in. Most places are a quick in and out which I don’t agree with. In fact it got me into a lot of trouble in previous jobs for taking too long with eyebrows lol. For me eyebrows are an art and they take time and attention to detail I also believe that when you lay on that brow bed it’s your time out from the busy world and it should be a relaxing experience. One day soon, I’d love to offer 1:1, group and online training to Brow Artists (beginner and advanced) because I am soooo passionate about what I do and I would love to create opportunity for others just like I was given opportunity throughout my career. This is my next dream I’m working on.... (Don’t worry, I’m still gonna do clients brows) As for me personally, this is as dressed up as you’ll find me! I pretty much only wear makeup to work, I’d prefer to be with my dogs and horses over humans, I have a love (addiction) for filling the studio with plants and I’d choose the countryside and open space over a city any day! 06.01.2022 What a difference lamination made to the front of these brows! So many of you have hairs that grow inward at the front (which I think is pretty and natural) however I understand if it’s something that bothers you. Lamination allows us to set the hair in the direction we choose. With these brows we’ve made the hairs at the front sweep up and over with the rest of the brow hairs. It was the noisiest and did my head in cause it ruined the relaxing vibes in the studio but that’s all I could afford at the time so it had to do. ... Moving on, we now have proper air con Phew Anyway, the hole was left and Milo and Lenny always use it to see and smell what’s going on outside So I figured we’d make it their offical peephole The things you do for shop dogs

06.01.2022 I’ve always been very relaxed and easy going about children coming in with you for your appointment but there’s a few things I’m going to have to ask of mum’s from here on in... If you have to bring your kids, no worries but only if you really have to. Having a child moving around in the studio while I’m trying to work is very distracting for me and 100% not relaxing for you. When this happens I don’t feel like I can give the best of me and I don’t want you or me to be unhap...py with my work. If they must come, please no food. I understand kids are entertained by food but I only allow enough time between appointments to clean the room ready for the next client. There isn’t enough time for you or me to clean up after them and I really don’t want to be finding food on the floor after you’ve left. Last of all, I can’t have small children up on your lap while you’re on the treatment bed. Naturally they move around and that makes my job really difficult. Absolutely hate to throw rules out there but I think it’s best for everyone in the long run. Thank you in advance for taking these things on board. Ash x

05.01.2022 Appointments between now and the end of the year.... As most of you know, it’s fully booked until Xmas and until February next year Very, very thankful. ... Towards the end of each month, I contact the people on the waitlist for the following month if there have been any cancellations and offer it to them. That’s why the booking system is blocked off because I wouldn’t want anyone taking apps that become available before I can offer it to those that are waiting. My regulars always come first but sometimes they can’t make a particular time and so I then go on to contact the new clients on the waitlist who have asked for a space. If you are a regular and you haven’t got your name on the waitlist but you’d like to, please let me know as I will always find a spot for you if I can and you guys always come first. October, November, December are months that people tend to want their apps more so than usual leading up to the end of the year. I do have three weeks off over Xmas so I’m happy to extend my days a little up until then to get everyone in. It’s interesting because the clients who are my most loyal and lovely tend to say to me; Ash, I’d never ask to get in cause I know you’re so busy. You guys in particular, ask me! I will always come in earlier or stay back later for you. People have said to me, Why are you still taking on new clients? My answer is that, 1. I LOVE meeting new clients and 2. If regular clients don’t approach me to fill the cancellations, I will give them to new clients. I know it must be frustrating not being able to make a booking unless it’s in advance but please know, I have your best interests at heart. On an end note, I never thought it would get like this and it’s a great problem to have. The clients that got me here though, always come first. Thank you a million. 04.01.2022 Lamination Treatment Lamination is a fantastic service creating fuller, wispy brows that sit the way you’d like them to, all day. A three step chemical process that straightens and redirects the hairs.... For instance, if your brow hairs grow downwards, we can redirect them to sit upwards. Or if your front brow section grows inward, we can make them sit the same as the rest of the brow. This can completely change the way they look on a daily basis. Lasting 6-8 weeks, Lamination can look a bit full on for the first few days. The hairs will appear shiny and look a bit funny until they are brushed into place with the spoolie (I give you). Fast forward a week or so and they’re great. But they do take some getting used to. These particular brows have been laminated maybe 5 times over the past year or so. Was so great to see them still looking good 3 weeks later. (swipe to see as well as other lamination results) Lamination isn’t for everyone. These are a few things that would definitely make it a service you’re best to avoid: You don’t moisturise your brows and face 2x daily. Prefer your brows to sit flat rather than wispy. Won’t be bothered to brush your brows daily. And PS: Lamination doesn’t have to look brushed up silly. I have a particular style I use and I avoid the trend of brushing straight up Any questions? 03.01.2022 Brow shaping is so much fun but brow correction is where the extra juicy fun is at What we’ve done here to create more symmetry is change the shape from rounded to more angular, coloured the finer hairs underneath to add a little more fullness to the middle section and lifted those front sections slightly to open the eye area up. What do you think?

03.01.2022 First ever brow appointment Being so blonde, this client wanted to keep her brows nice and light. She told me one of her friends at school had her brows tinted and they were so dark and she reallllly didn’t want them like that (understandable). I used the lightest henna on her and checked if she wanted to go darker afterwards. She didn’t A subtle shaping and light wash of colour kept her brows nice and natural. 01.01.2022 Channeling my inner florist Every fortnight I’ll go in on my day off to take all the plants down and out for a water and some sunshine. Then I’ll usually rearrange them when I bring them back in (I’m a serial furniture and plant mover) ... Btw I changed the studio around again. ‘Least it gets a deep clean every time it’s moved around

I mentioned and updated the new prices on the booking system a little while back but I just wanted to reach out again to remind everyone that there will be a small price increase as of January 2021.
