09.01.2022 Looking out over green paddocks with horses grazing in the distance reminds me of the best things in life. A peaceful moment away from the noise of today’s world. Not everyone has the opportunity to visit family on a farm - I am very lucky! But changing things at home to give this same sense of peace has become a priority. A home that will give me the pleasure back in my living space is critical. Less to look after, a garden and some green grass to capture CO2. Some shady trees and a perfect outlook with great neighbours and minimal traffic. 08.01.2022 Our days are filled with time wasters, interruptions and distractions. It makes it really hard to get the important things done. Ten years ago I found myself at a particularly frustrating set of lights where the right hand turn often took 2-3 light changes because of trams, light change cycles and traffic conditions. I was resentful that my limited and finite resource, my life, was being wasted by the arbitrary requirement to travel through this set of lights. I realised tha...t these red lights were symbolic of my life and that I needed to take stock of how I was spending my time. Are you like this, no longer prepared to be involved in meetings or events that aren’t part of your greater life plan? When you investigate whether you will participate in any venture be it work, personal aspirations, buying a car, building a home and even deciding to watch a YouTube video or movie, listen to a podcast or audible book, read an article or longer story, are you deciding very early if this is helping you to get where you really want to go. I certainly am doing this. One of the biggest decisions I made was to redevelop my home block. This plan has been incubating for several years and now I am at the point of making this happen. I want it be an exceptional experience that is achieved in an agreed timeline, does not waste my time and delivers an outcome that will see me free of debt and ready to set off into the next phase of my life.
