12.01.2022 Pictured are artworks created by local ceramic artist, Heather Lowes, which were created for the Old-New initiative by Eastern Riverina Arts. The exhibition features a new artwork exhibited alongside a museum object. The exhibition focuses on museums and artists located in the Eastern Riverina Arts region. The exhibition is being held in the Historic Council Chambers site of the Museum of the Riverina before being made available for touring to Museums in our region - includin...g the Bundawarrah Centre. At the end of the tour the contemporary artwork will be donated to each Museum. The project's aim is to showcase contemporary artists from our region alongside the unique, quirky and/or significant objects held in our museums. Temora Rural Museum agreed to lend an item for the Exhibition and tour. You can see the exhibition at the Museum of the Riverina until November 22 See more

07.01.2022 Les Schulz (1902 - 2003) was a Temora mechanic and musician. He was well known and liked in the Temora community and stayed active for most of his 101 years. Les became famous as "Australia's Oldest Mechanic" and was featured on A Current Affair, with his beloved car "Lena" at the age of 99 as his license was renewed. Les was also a seasoned musician playing the piano accordion and harmonica right up until his death in 2003.
