22.01.2022 hi all. time for some uses for the range of native herbs and spices. hopefully each thursday nite, i will be posting a new recipe for these great spices and herbs. tonites is easy as, saltbush prawns. for 4 people. wash and de-vine one kilo for green prawn cutlet meat, the ones that have been peeled back to just the last section of tail shell, this is to pick them up by. in a large frypan, melt 6 tablespoons of butter with 6 tablespoons of olive oil, add the prawn meat, sprin...kle over 1 tablespoon of saltbush powder, cook on high heat for 3 minutes, turn the prawns over, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon more of saltbush powder and cook for 3 minutes. serve in a large bowl, with a squeeze of lime juice, and everyone for themselves. 12.01.2022 tonites recipe for native herbs and spices caramelised lemon myrtle bananas and ice cream serves 4 start with 4 peeled and sliced bananas. melt 250gm of butter, add 200gms brown sugar, over medium heat till a light caramel forms, add 2 teaspoons of lemon myrtle powder and the sliced bananas, cook till all the bananas are coated with caramel sauce, serve into 4 bowls top with ice cream of your choice, and enjoy
