22.01.2022 ONE POT PASTA (with hidden veg!) Grab Beef Mince $7.99 kg (until Sunday 4pm) and make my easy peasy pasta that all gets cooked in one pot! I made quite the mess in the kitchen tonight...but boy o boy it was worth it!... 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 brown onion, chopped 1 carrot, finely chopped 1 stalk celery, finely chopped 4 shortcut bacon rashers, trimmed, chopped 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 600g beef mince 1/3 cup tomato paste 2 x 410g cans crushed tomatoes 3 cups chicken stock 250g dried pasta 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves Heat oil in a large heavy-based flameproof casserole dish or non-stick saucepan over medium-high heat . Add onion, carrot and celery. Cook, stirring ocasionally, for 3 minutes or until onion starts to soften. Add bacon. Cook for 3 minutes or until golden. Add garlic. Stir to combine. Add mince to dish. Cook, breaking up mince with a wooden spoon, for 5 minutes or until browned all over. Stir in tomato paste, tomatoes, stock and thyme sprigs. Cover. Bring to the boil. Add pasta. Reduce heat to medium.Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until spaghetti is tender and sauce has thickened, stirring mixture every 5 minutes. Remove pot from heat. Add parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Serve topped with chopped parsley and parmesan. #louiseskitchen

16.01.2022 LET’S DO THE RIGHT THING As we enjoy our first week of ‘freedom’ with the Border reopening, we remind all our customers that it is law in Victoria for an a...dult to wear a face mask while shopping inside a store. We had a visit yesterday from Wodonga Police reminding us of this. We kindly ask that our customers comply. Admittedly we don’t like wearing them either but the Victorian Police have made it clear that they will be enforcing the rules and we will receive a fine on their next visit. The police are policing us and we will be asking those without face masks to do the right thing unless they have a medical exemption. We’ve been busy these last few months planning and creating an awesome new look store and trust us, it’s worth the drive across the Border to visit. Just remember to wear a face mask!
