24.01.2022 Happy birthday to me! The Buttercream Dream turned 2 in October, so I celebrated by f i n a l l y ordering some business cards/labels etc Again, a massive thank you to my dear friend Samantha for designing my logo. Of course, a huge thank you to everyone for your love, support & business thus far!! My little buttercream dream is steadily becoming a reality, and what a whirlwind it's been. I've learnt to value my time (sorry peeps, no generic $50 cakes here ), have patien...ce with new recipes & techniques, experiment more, think outside the box, stick to my 'buttercream dream' (I will NEVER do fondant cakes!), and say "duck" instead of the other word when things go wrong, because the toddler is aaaalwaaaays listening! I still have a lot to learn, offer and try, and hope you'll join me (and potentially laugh with me) along the way. Here's to another exciting year! Love Han @ The Buttercream Dream xx

May 2021 be bigger, better and involve more cake than 2020 I am currently away enjoying a coastal break with my family, and will respond to any enquiries from the 9th January onwards due to poor phone coverage. 22.01.2022 Jared & Julia 19.09.20 My first wedding cake for the 20/21 season and what a beautiful way to begin. Possibly my favourite wedding cake so far; those colours! The setting at Josef Chromy Wines just made it all the more spectacular. Semi naked 9 & 7inch tiers, alternating layers of white chocolate and dark chocolate mud cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. Home-made raspberry sauce was delivered separately in jars to accompany the slices when served. Dark chocolate ...ganache drip, fresh berries, figs and beautiful blooms finish this stunner. Wishing Jared & Julia a lifetime of health, happiness & love. Your cake was a delight to create; I hope Rey got to try some too! Flora provided by client & placed/decorated by me as always
21.01.2022 OMBRE + THIRTY This big, beautiful & happy cake was enjoyed for a 30th in Ulverstone on Saturday night. Couldn't resist adding a pop of contrasting colour; pink & yellow really is a cheerful, pretty combination. Also, can we just talk about that perfect ombre?! 9 & 7inch Ruby chocolate and raspberry mudcake (hello new recipe!) with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream and fresh raspberries in between the layers. Gorgeous Australian animal figurines from (one of my absolute favourite stores!) Little Wishes toys & gifts. Toy figurines are a fabulous alternative to fondant figurines; they're a great keepsake for Baby to play with later on, and more affordable too! 16.01.2022 Hi everyone! Here's a cute bunny cake from last year to brighten your news feed This is great option for Easter too! On a serious note, in the midst of this awful COVID-19 pandemic, I'd like to assure you all that I'm still taking orders and baking as normal. Remember I operate out of a council-registered kitchen (as the law requires and an important thing to check when shopping around for your cake creator!) so hygiene and sanitisation is paramount ... Although we sadly can't celebrate our special occasions our usual way at the moment, I can still drop a delicious & beautiful custom made cake at your or your loved one's door; we can discuss smaller options for your household if need be. If a cake still seems a bit much, remember I do cupcakes, cakepops and sugar cookies too! If you have a wedding or other special event happening towards the end of this year/early next year, please get in contact with me asap to discuss your order and book your spot to avoid disappointment. I have already started taking bookings for early/late 2021. In the meantime stay safe, stay home, look after one another, wash your hands and eat cake! Love Han xx

09.01.2022 T W E N T Y O N E Another fabulous cake for some amazing clients; the request was white, peach and rose gold and I was all too happy to oblige. This time we decided to go with a more modern, textural design with chocolate work, instead of flowers. 08.01.2022 SIXTY + MATTE NUDE + TWINE My last cake for 2020 and what a cake to finish with! This design has been in my head for many months, and with the request of something in warmer tones, the opportunity to finally create it emerged. ... With absolutely nothing on top and a few new features/ideas, balancing everything together so it all worked was key. The warm tones of the flowers, the matte finish of the nude buttercream against the shiny, fabulous 60 cake pin, and simple brown twine A design I couldn't be happier with and something I can't wait to create again (but slightly different of course!) 05.01.2022 R O S E G O L D & T E X T U R E Eighteenth cake #2 This stunner was cake #2 for the birthday girl, enjoyed with family & friends for a lunch function yesterday. ... Original image supplied for our inspiration was of a fondant covered cake; anyone who knows cake knows getting a similar look with buttercream can be a challenge! Luckily I've had a new technique locked away and waiting to be tried out for a while, and so this shimmery textured beauty evolved! Bottom tier 9inch chocolate cake. Top tier 7inch vanilla sponge. Salted caramel sauce in between the layers and all covered with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. Colours achieved with @colour.mill Rose gold tier achieved with with Faye Cahill rose gold powder and Edible Art Paint in metallic rose gold

A lover of Australia and the bush, I wanted to do an elegant green & gold theme with some simple eucalyptus leaves utilised a little differently. 9 inch chocolate cake with hazelnut swiss meringue buttercream and crushed roasted hazelnuts; one of my new favourite flavours and something I'd recommend if you're after a cake that's a little more 'mature' and less sweet. ...
