18.01.2022 Time off for me means getting into some long overdue jobs at home! First project was to deal with my rusting wood burner ready for winter coming wire brush or sandpaper the excess rust off and smooth the surface. Wipe down and let dry. Coat with with rust-oleum high heat in bbq black. 2 coats. Leave to cure for 24hrs. 07.01.2022 ...Started on a reno of my kitchen to keep busy last week whilst off work. Will do the whole kitchen bit by bit as money and time allows. Firstly took the doors off the top cupboards to turn them into displays. Filled holes with filler. Painted them white with applicable primer & washable Haymes top coat in Matt acrylic. Re~painted the melamine bottom cupboards & lightly sanded to expose 2nd colour base coat on edges to give a little depth using Porter’s Chalk Paint & seale...d with stucco wax. Changed handles to pine knobs. Locally sourced some beautiful maple timber for a new slab bench top. Had it cut and sanded then sealed it myself with 3 coats of Porter’s clear cote. Added a few plants Pretty happy with the end result! Way better than the drab look before.
