12.01.2022 WORLD FIRST- ZIPLINE BETWEEN THE 12 APOSTLES In a daring world first, and exclusive to Wildlife Tours Australia, passengers will today embark on the first ever... 'Zipline tour of the 12 apostles'. "Our customers will now be able to take their Great Ocean Road eco-tourism experience to new peaks - literally" said Paul Beames, CEO - Wildlife Tours. "There is great interest in our adventure tourism packages such as mountain biking at Mount Buller, or the You Yangs (www.mountainbikeadventures.com.au). We wanted to extend our ability to cater for customers who see the natural landscape as their adrenaline rush, not just a picture postcard. " "For just $165 our customers will be able to (safely) zip between the cliff-top and the southern-most apostle and experience the view of the limestone stacks and the marine national park like never before." "Environmental concerns over the proposal were alleviated when we clearly demonstrated that the attraction would reduce pressure from operators wanting to access the beach and disturb Little Penguin habitats. We also provided evidence that when not in use, the wire could provide roosts for the Vulnerable Gibson's Albatross, as well as the Critically Endangered Southern Bent Wing Bat." Roosting areas have become largely unavailable in the adjacent treeless heath in recent times due to periodic fire. Designed by specialist engineers over the last two years, the zipline has passed rigorous safety tests and was approved for use in time for the Easter break. "Easter is one of our busiest tour periods along the Great Ocean Road, and we are very excited to be to unveil this awe-inspiring opportunity for thrill-seekers and nature-lovers" said Paul Beames. "Optional extras include hi-res photography, go pro rental and a take-home USB of all footage. The first 200 customers will also get a free 'I ziplined the apostles' T-shirt." "For those that prefer to keep their feet firmly on solid ground, our friendly and informative tour guides will be able to keep you entertained with wildlife spotting and natural and cultural site history. The full day tour also includes a picnic lunch and pickup and drop-off in inner city Melbourne." For more information and bookings please visit the Wildlife Tours website Www.wildlifetours.com.au For media enquiry please contact: Paul Beames [email protected]
