25.01.2022 Some good training reminders to start your week with!

25.01.2022 I have shared this previously but it’s a good reminder to take the time to understand dog body language. Sometimes very subtle signs like lip licking will tell you that your dog is anxious and that you may need to manage the situation, or do some targeted training to help your dog manage this. Make a habit of observing your dog and getting to know their signals to you.

25.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the dog Dads out there! Hope you got spoilt like I did!

24.01.2022 A great drawing by Lili Chin and Mike Saita to describe the importance of creating distance if your dog is reactive to other dogs. Give them the time and space they need to relearn and become more comfortable.

24.01.2022 It’s a great time to explore some new walks with your dog. They will love all the new smells and mental stimulation as well as the exercise! https://www.canberradogwalks.com.au/canberra-walks-walk-su/

23.01.2022 Some good info in here in ACT rules around dogs when out walking, swimming etc.

22.01.2022 A hot few days are coming up so it’s important to keep your dogs cool. Something that I do is freeze some sardines in water, in an old margarine container. Pop them out when frozen and they make a tasty and cooling ice block for your dog! Just don’t give it to them inside unless you love the scent of sardines!

21.01.2022 A great reminder for toilet training. Take your puppy out after they eat, drink, play and wake from a sleep! Consistency is very important.

18.01.2022 Some good tips to help manage the common challenge of puppy biting.

18.01.2022 I will be back teaching puppy classes on a Thursday night from January at Weston Creek Vet. It’s a busy time for puppies and classes are already starting to fill up!

18.01.2022 A great article on the value of food rewards in training.

15.01.2022 Important info to be aware of.

12.01.2022 Some good tips to help manage barking. Understanding the trigger is always the start, and being aware where you may be unintentionally reinforcing the barking!

08.01.2022 This gave me a laugh. Have a good week.

07.01.2022 Here’s an idea!
