Be Grateful for the abundance in your life I never thought I would go sailing or do anything meaningful after finding something wrong with my daughter. I decided to do whatever it takes to live as normal life as possible.... Since I decided - I have completed my Masters of Business Administration- Duxed Strategic Management, stood in Federal Election & Elected to Local Government. I would never have done these things if not for my daughters disabilities. I am grateful to have her. Grateful to this path I am on. 08.01.2022 My Post in the Carers Couch Group- Over the last 2 years, many members have joined the NDIS Carers Couch..... many Carers been supported through NDIS. The group was started in response to some harsh treatment of Carers in another NDIS group- in fact I was expelled for being positive about NDIS. Yes - I made a decision in 2006 after standing in the state election here in Victoria that I would do what I had to do to get the support that I needed to do what I could & not beat my...self up if it was not possible. I also made the decision to find the positives out of whatever I could. Sure - my daughter does not walk or talk .... sure its hard but being annoyed or unhappy was not going to make Imyjen walk or talk so I might as well find as much to be happy about as I could. Through the group I have done my absolute best to supprt, guide & advise people on how to get the best out of NDIS- for that I have been abused & attacked BUT those people who took my advice got what they wanted. Sure NDIS is not perfect - but its the best we got....AND its what people campaigned long & hard for. And yes- I stood in the Federal Election in May. It is my absolute aspiration that NDIS is the best it can be for the most of us possible. I am working through how I do that...... Now I am asking all of you what you would like to see out of the group? I have had requests to allow organisations to join. To date I have allowed sometimes - if they are also Carers. What do you think? What would you like to see? I have also toyed with the idea of removing the NDIS part & just making it about caring issues? What do you think? Tell me what you think?

06.01.2022 My quest has been to better understand where I have come from & the challenge I have faced after finding out something wrong with my daughter. It is an especially difficult time at the moment as she is experiencing a lot of seizures. It was a dark time finding out all was not right. So I decided that my quest is to live the best life I can. And to lead others to do the same faced with similar challenges. Its not always an easy path & its very bumpy. My daughters disabilities has allowed me to see life differently though..... very zen like.
