09.01.2022 After some long and difficult discussions we have made the painful decision that Gilbert will not produce and bottle wine from the estate vineyard and also from our growers vineyards in New South Wales this year. External laboratory analysis, supported by our own trials, shows the adverse affects that the smoke from the season of unprecedented bushfires has had on our grapes. A premium quality product is what we always set ourselves the task of producing. As a family business... we continually strive to achieve this and never release a wine that we arent proud of. Quality is first and foremost. We do still have stock; from current releases, back vintages and some exciting new wines. Also, we have a few parcels of fruit coming from further afield through some old and new friends. These will still be very much down the Gilbert style, albeit with a different touch from a different part of the land. There are many people within the industry who have suffered far more devastating effects from the bushfires and our thoughts are very much with them. We, like these people and many others, are all open for business and would love to see you. So jump online or jump in the car, come visit and support your local wine industry. Support NSW Wine.
