25.01.2022 RUNNING A SMALL BUSINESS IS HECTIC!!! Owning & running a small business is one of the hardest challenges we’ve had to face in our lives! It is hectic & we hardly EVER switch off! But in saying that it is also rewarding & it does come with some perks...... On a Sunday morning the two zombie baristas make their way to TCR to prepare for the week coming & to reflect on the week just gone. They sip on the brews on offer & make a little cheeky breaky (usually of Runny Boiled Eggs w’ Parmesan & Vegemite Soldiers, Hummus & sometimes Banana Bread!) while listening to some dope beats! 04.01.2022 Hey TCR fam As most of you already know, tomorrow we turn 5! To say it is an accomplishment would be an understatement. It’s actually really f**king MASSIVE!!! Yesterday, Jason stood up for both of us & gave a speech that hit us all in the feels & because I’m a scaredy cat (about talking in public) I thought I would do what I do best & write my thoughts straight from my soul...... We were told that starting up a new business would be challenging (& it was, three fold!) but we were ready for the challenge & all our hearts desired was to celebrate specialty coffee & share our knowledge with you. Our humble room has turned what you thought you knew about coffee, right on its head. It has made you rethink your morning brew & how you could make it even better. It has trained your palate to appreciate the delicate tea like experience of a pourover. It has turned you from feeling like a milk drinking outsider, into one of the cool kids sitting at the brew bar (thanks Kim ). You’ve taken the tips & tricks you’ve learnt whilst having a brew bar experience to create your own ritual at home. You’ve caught up with old friends at TCR & you’ve made newbies, who are now part of your coffee family. That moment when you first walked through the door to inhale the intoxicating aroma, whilst the deep bass vibrates right through your body. You see the grin of the baristas, who are deep in a coffee coma & you want that same feeling. Whether it be Jason, Nick, Ben or Crawford you utter those magical words baristas choice & you know you’ll be hooked up, real good! It’s been a ‘ride or die’ 5 years & we (mostly) chose ‘ride’! Yesterday I was hit with a massive sense of gratitude for having everything my little barista heart desired. Even though I can’t work behind the bar anymore my blood type will always be coffee.
