12.01.2022 Sierra Leone reach ANSC Challenge World Cup final after edging Thailand on penalties By Magdalene Konneh Mags Tribune Media The Check-Point... Sierra Leone qualified for the final of the ANSC Challenge World Cup after defeating Thailand 5-4 on penalties on Sunday February 21st 2021 at Parry Park in Lakemba. Thailand took the lead midway in the second half and becomes ruthless in the match, until they fouled Jabbie who brilliantly dribble through the Thai defence and he was roughly tackled from the back. The foul on Jabbie earned Sierra Leone a penalty kick which was converted by Ibrahim Sesay who levels the score 1-1. The referee awarded a penalty to Thailand after the ball hit the hand of one of the Sierra Leonean defenders and they went ahead with a 2-1 lead, until the 85th minute, when David Kargbo slotted home a sitter to equalize 2-2 and force the match to end in a post penalty kicks. In the shootout, both sides successfully converted their first four penalties. But goalkeeper James Kobba, makes a fantastic save against the Thai’s, while Mark Kamara converted the last spot-kick to qualify Sierra Leone to the finals. Mark Kamara who scores the winning penalty goal, expressed delight for defeating Thailand and having the honour of qualifying his country to grand finals. I’m very happy to score the winning goal, though it was a bit scary because the goalkeeper almost save my spot kick, but the ball passed through the goal line and it was a relief for me. We played fantastic football and we were focused throughout the 90 minutes of play. They took the lead twice and we equalize, that tells how determined we were to win the match, Kamara said. The exciting fans were happy with the stunning come back from the Sierra Leone players and they are hopeful of winning this years Challenge trophy. One of the community leaders, Mr Raymond Bangura said he was impressed with the performance of the boys and congratulated them for reaching the finals. Her said it was a hard fought victory and a show of patriotism from the players who played so well win. Mr Bangura called on the community members to come out in their numbers on Saturday to support and motivate the team. Sierra Leone will face Holland in the grand final of the Challenge World Cup on Saturday 27th February 2021 at Parry Park.

02.01.2022 JUSTICE MUST PREVAIL FOR MARIAMA KONGAIMA!! Her name was Mariama Kongaima she was 23 yrs of age . She was born in Torma Bum Chiefdom in Bonthe District. She met her tragic death on the 5th. Of February 2021. At a village called Waribana in Lunsar. According what the Cyber Unit Media team gathered , Her fiancee by the name of Sheriff Kamara age 26 years resident of 44. J. Congo Valley in Freetown took her to this village for a visit . On that faithful morning, he asked her ...to follow him to a near by stream to take birth. Upon arrival at the seen he took her phone and went through her messages. All of a sudden he accused her of exchanging love messages with another man. From that point an argument ensured which led to fight, during the cause of the fighting Sheriff took out a knife and stabbed Mariama on the neck she died intantly. She was buried emidiately by the suspect. After which he then called his brother who stays in Makeni and informed him of what he had done. His brother acted wisely by telling him that he should wait for him, which he did. When his brother came he then informed the police in Lunsar about the incident. The police arrested sherrif and took him to the crime seen where they found the makeshift grave , a kinfe which had blood on it and a telephone belonging to the desese. He was then transferred to the C.I.D. Department in Freetown. Where According the lady's relalatives He admitted of doing the act. As l type he and the instigators are on the way back to Freetown C.I.D. to be presise from Waribana village where the sad incident took place for them to get a first hand information on the matter. The remains of Mariama is currently at the Freetown Mortuary awaiting burial as a postmoting had already been done and the death certificate made available to her family .
