19.01.2022 TCP'S annual KNOW WASTE Education visit. Our first educational visits for the year, saw very interested children learning about worm farming. Charlotte our trainer visited fo 45 mins bringing with her some very wriggly friends and Nature's Recyclers. This program aligns with TCP's philosophy and commitment towards a sustainable future and is beneficial to children at the commencement of each preschool year to introduce new friends to environmental awareness and provide the... opportunities for returning children to pass their knowledge to younger peers. Thank you Charlotte @cleanawayau #enironmentalawareness #sustainablekids #earlychildhoodeducation

16.01.2022 Happy New Years from our family to yours! A new year and brand new opportunities for learning!

16.01.2022 In our last week of TCP for 2020, through bleary eyes we bid farewell to families heading off on a new exciting adventure. Some of our relationships began whilst our preschoolers were still in their mum’s tummy. We have shared many smiles, laughter, sometimes tears and lots of hugs, throughout our beautiful years together. We want to say thank you for allowing us to be part of your family and entrusting us with your most precious child/children. ... We have loved receiving the picture memories of our first and last days together and we have been very spoiled by the beautiful hand made gifts and donations that we have received. We will always remember you!

15.01.2022 Positive relationships and collaborative partnerships = successful outcomes for children, families and educators in the early years.

13.01.2022 An interesting read for all families. https://thesector.com.au//life-for-under-fives-is-fundame/

10.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY In the Bush Tucker Garden During our investigations of Bush Tucker food, the children learnt that Aboriginal people could cook using fire. ... Zara made a connection and informed that her dad cooks with fire. Knowing that dad Dele is an award-winning BBQ Champion. Our Director/ECT shared the conversation with Zara’s dad. We were so privileged that Dele took the afternoon off to come and spend some time with his daughter, friends and educators at TCP. Our Bush Tucker garden was the perfect spot to BBQ, amongst the Finger limes and Davidson plum tree. Dele showed the children how a fire is made and discussed that this was one of the first forms of cooking - before electricity, cook tops, ovens and microwaves. Dele introduced the children to Australian ironbark which the children found fragrant and fostered discussions about familiar scents. The children asked many questions, and all showed a sound understanding of fire safety, drawn from personal experiences. All the children made connections with being with their own families, watching mum, dad or sometimes both cooking over a BBQ. Children demonstrated fond memories of meaningful experiences with families as they each shared their cultural contexts. The children could not wait to get some tucker and gave their critiques about the flavoursome chicken, hot off the fire. Our Audrey.G said to Dele, "You're a good cooker". A sentiment shared by all. Thank you Dele and Zara for sharing your family experiences and for enabling the children to see how bush tucker might have been cooked.

05.01.2022 On 11th December TCP was extremely fortunate to bid 2020 families farewell with an incredibly special end of year graduation. Unique circumstances prompted the event when I received a call from Muscular Dystrophy Australia. MDA provides support to all Australians, affected by Muscular Dystrophy, through the provision of respite, education, training, information services, support groups and funding medical research. 1 in 625 Australians, men, women, and children are living wi...th over 60 muscle-wasting diseases. These are rare conditions and people can receive a diagnosis of MD at any age. There is currently no cure for MD. TCP fundraised during National Superhero Week, an event supported by PJ Masks and held between 12 -18 October 2020. Viewing, this as an opportunity to foster literacy, relationships, bring awareness to muscular dystrophy and raise money for their cause. TCP engaged children, families, and their community in a weeklong READATHON CHALLENGE because we all know, SUPERHEROES CAN READ! Due to The Children’s Preschool fundraising efforts, AMAZINGLY, we won the top prize for schools raising a staggering $2,284, surpassing our original target of $1000 and our PRIZE was a meet and greet with the PJ Masks Superheroes. It took a lot of planning, including contacting the COVID specialist team, collaboration with families, educators, and children to ensure a successful event that adhered to COVID plans to keep everyone safe and healthy. We held a picnic outdoors in our beautiful and expansive natural environment, that ensured the required physical distancing between families but still allowed for the all-important community socialisation. Our children transitioning to kindergarten were able to graduate with their family members present and Team TCP did a fantastic job as COVID officials. We announced the WINNERS of the Superhero Readathon Challenge, presented by PJ Masks. 1st place Abigail 2nd place Noah 3rd place Aria It was a sensational effort, by our children and their families reading many books and gaining sponsorships. Many thanks to everyone in the community who participated and enabled the visit by PJ Masks. The PJ mask crew said they had a lot of fun and that TCP was a beautiful centre. It seemed that everything aligned exactly right, even the weather and under the circumstances we were truly fortunate to have had this special day together.
