24.01.2022 Driving up the road a couple of days back I spotted some rock in the distance. To give this some context, where I've been since lockdown began is hours from the nearest established climbing area, so I've been hanging out badly for rock! Who knows, it could be choss, it could be amazing. It's about an hours walk from the car, but I'm psyched to find out Of course, Murphys law... Its been pouring rain ever since I decided to check out the rock (after hardly raining for weeks)...

13.01.2022 If you aren't in the habit of reading the posts that go with Instagram photos, do me a favour and go read yesterday's on this feed! Yes, it takes a couple of minutes to fill out the partition, but it's for an important cause within our community, and it's worth the time! Magic Wood is somewhere every one knows I've spent a lot of time. It's a perfect melting pot of international and local climbers, and always has an amazing vibe. Which is perfect for a photographer like me. O...ver the 8 years I've been visiting, I worked out I've put well more than 15000 into the regions businesses, if you look at accommodation, restaurant meals, groceries and petrol in Thusis, rental cars in Chur etc. And I'm just one visitor among many, so imagine how much business we actually bring into the canton! And like many others, it's not just the climbing that draws me, it's the community, a community that has been nurtured for a decade by @bodhi_climbing. The simple fact is, if the Saluz family is forced to leave, the climbing area faces an uncertain future. And I like many others will be less inclined to spend time and money there. There's lots of other great areas, I just prefer the community in Magic Wood. 08.01.2022 Magic Wood needs your help!!! For the last decade, the guesthouse, camping and restaurant at Magic Wood have been managed by @bodhi_climbing and the rest of the wonderful Saluz family. Yesterday they found out their contract to run the services is being cancelled by the local community (who own the guest house, the campground etc). This is insane. ... Thomas and family run a fantastic facility for climbers and other travellers from around the globe. They have a great review average across the major platforms like Google and Trip advisor, and have put countless hours into maintaining the area we know and love. The Saluz family have also been incredible advocates for climbing within the local community. I'm not overstating at all saying if we lose them, we could lose access altogether in the not to distant future. Not to mention Thomas has always campaigned for Magic Wood being an affordable climbing destination (not easy in an expensive country like Switzerland), which for sure would be under threat.
