I think this really correlates with the rise in health issues such as chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, weight gain, and diseases such as heart, cancer, fatty liver, and diabetes. The good news is, that we have the ability to turn all these statistics around. This is important not just for our own health and wellbeing, but also for the health and wellbeing of future generations and sustainability of the planet. Every little positive step forward creates the ripple effect of greater impact and change. We can totally do this!!!!

02.01.2022 STEP AWAY FROM NETFLIX... You may not think watching too much tv would have any significant impact on your health. However... Exposure to television is challenging for the brain. It is far beyond the brain’s capacity to process the flood of incoming stimuli that emanate from an overwhelming number of rapidly changing picture frames appearing on a tv screen every split second. This is how the body responds,..... Blood pressure rises to help move more oxygen, glucose, cholesterol, vitamins and other nutrients to various parts of the body, which are used up rapidly by the heavy brainwork. Plus there’s the tension associated with certain programs that contain violence, noise, suspense, or shouting - this causes the adrenal glands to respond with a shot of adrenaline to prepare the body for a fight or flight response (aka stress response). This is where a weight gain link comes into play. The stress response causes cells to lose water, sugar and other nutrients. This depletion then leads to feelings of ‘insatiable hunger that is often experienced when watching tv - bring on the popcorn! Watching tv is just one form of stress the body can undergo which leads to weight gain.
