22.01.2022 Wishing you a Happy New Year for 2019. We hope you enjoy your celebrations.

20.01.2022 The weather is getting warmer again... Hydration is so important for our loved ones. Don't forget to encourage them to keep up their fluid intake. This can be in the form of good old H2O (Water), Cordials, Juices, Icypoles, Herbal teas, Smoothies, ect. We know not everyone enjoys water so hopefully these other options/ideas will help out.

13.01.2022 With all the predicted rain for the the coming days. Have you got a plan in place to ensure the safety of your loved ones? *Can they remain home and services attend? *Is there enough food in the house in case of flooding? *Do they need evacuating/relocating until the weather passes? If not, talk to them today to put one in place.

04.01.2022 POLYPHARMACY! Do you know what this is? Poly pharmacy is when a person takes multiple medications, usually more than 5 tablets for various reasons/medical conditions. Yesterday, I had a timely reminder about polypharmacy especially with our elderly. A person I was caring for required 30 tablets in a 24hr period!!!! We are all vulnerable to inadvertent consequences from taking multiple medications including adverse reactions, overdoses/toxicity build up and so on resultin...g in hospital admissions, falls and even worse. I wanted to share this with you today to remind everyone of the importance to have a medication review by your GP or Specialist. This should be revised on a yearly basis or sooner if required/recommended. This is not to say that some people require multiple medications each day but it is important to know how they all work/interact together and how to take them appropriately. Some people may no longer require a medication they started years ago. It is always worth having it looked into.
