25.01.2022 Fresh out of the oven, our saltbush lamb pastilles. Lamb from Carnamah slow cooker for 12hrs and wrapped up in buttery filo pastry, topped with a dollap of cucumber yogurt Open for breakfast from 8 till 10.30... Lunch from 11 till 2 Phone 9927 2555

24.01.2022 Good Morning! We are just updating a few things as our restaurants path takes another pivot! Due to the workers shortage for short order cooks/chefs we've had to take another approach with our menu!! ... We are super pleased to say that we are still supporting our Local Midwest Producers though through gourmet ploughman's boards, we can promise you that the produce will be local & fresh! Once the world settles again, we promise to bring back the old heros you are familiar with, but in the meantime, you can enjoy fresh local produce, served by locals, with local spirits!

23.01.2022 With the recent update from our mate Scotty, in order to keep you good people safe, we are off to take singing lessons till this storm has passed, and you are all fighting fit and ready for a mai tai. We are beyond proud of our fishing community and wish them all the best!!... There's also a gorgeous little stand run by future business owners ;) selling lemonade and fruit, all monies going to the East Coast fires

20.01.2022 We are super excited to announce we FINALLY have a reopening date!! The 1st of October we will be reopening the restaurant space, and we cant bloody well wait!! Just 50 odd minutes from Dongara you'll find the stunning Coalseam- the coalseam stretches from Mingenew all the way down to Collie!... With plenty of opportunities for a photo op! You'll find your September holidays filled with fun family moments, finished off with lunch or late afternoon bite to eat at The Common Place.

17.01.2022 Thankyou to everyone who has been out to our humble eatery since our grand opening! We wish to inform you that we will be CLOSED for the entire month of FEBRUARY due to site works happening for the expansion of the Illegal Tender Rum Co premises and for the construction of our larger kitchen The Cellar door will still be open for tours, tastings and bottle sales as usual, there will just be no cafe/eatery during this time. We look forward to seeing you all after our latest upgrades are complete!

14.01.2022 Who doesn't love cheese? Did you know we have a goat dairy right here in the Midwest making premium Fettas & Haloumi? We just love Bookara Goat Dairy their persian feta features on our ploughmans boards which is a great share plate loaded with local favs!

10.01.2022 Have you met Millie? So we are slightly late on the international dog day post, dont work with kids or animals is the age old saying. In our defense we were waiting for Millie to sign her contract to use her images.. and be done with hair and makeup, of which she now looks like she is ready for many hugs and pats from travellers. ... Big thanks to Many Paws Dog Wash and Grooming for working with the model.

10.01.2022 Next weekend we will be reopening with the following hours, reduced, but opening none the less. Saturday and Sundays 11am till 3pm. Kitchen closes at 2.30pm... You can see the layout has changed. This is to give you table service, in line with the government's new conditions. To keep our staff safe we are encouraging you to pay by card. We employ 7 locals here and believe this is our best chance to keep everyone happy and within their job role. We already practise safe food and beverage handling so you can be rest assured we are taking full precautions to make sure you enjoy your time with us. 09.01.2022 We are full steam ahead on crafting the next 2 cocktails to hit the bar. With the new gin from Stableviews Distillery we are crafting a couple of amazing cocktails. But no cocktail is complete though without garnish- in our humble opinion- so thanks to a mate of ours we have the prettiest in all the lands!

02.01.2022 Well the last plate has gone out. The last kitchen pack down for 2019 has happened, the last Spotify list turned off. It's been truly amazing the last year planning the common place for you lovely people, then opening in July 2019... We wouldn't be where we are if it wasn't for our local producers, all of which kept us well stocked weekly with a friendly delivery a wave or a hug pending the weather! We are truly blessed to have you in the region. To our staff/team your bloody amazing, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. We want to thank each and everyone of you for your support and well wishes, we hope to see you again in 2020. Fun fact you lovely people went through 20kgs of exmouth tiger prawns in the last 3 week's. Throw back to our first coffee

02.01.2022 Thats our aim for 2020, we want to make sure that the positives we are seeing through this period of still at the common place is reflected when we reopen. We have always been proud of our minimal waste, but feel we can do more, that goes right back to even what we are purchasing our produce in. Cue trip to Tyford Co for a new market basket ... Have you started any zero waste projects around your place?
