24.01.2022 Because I’m a mum

24.01.2022 NOW LIVE: Please keep in mind our new ONLINE CHAT SERVICE for bereaved siblings aged 18-30 years is available daily from 3.00 PM to12.00 AM daily. If you are a bereaved sibling aged 18-30 years, we encourage you to explore this service. Alternately, if you know of siblings in this age range, PLEASE share this information. A significant service gap for this age group has been identified and this is our attempt to bridge this gap. (Please note: following this 6-month pilot ...and subject to demand/resources - and a Board decision - there are possibilities for TCFV to expand the online chat service beyond the current age range.) https://siblingsupport.tcfv.org.au

15.01.2022 SIBLING LOSS Alice lost her brother Calum when she was 8 years old after he suffered brain damage from an accident. Last year, not long after her 21st birthday her other brother Sam took his life after battling with schizophrenia. Alice and her twin sister have created a blog which explores their experience with grief. ... Alice wrote the post 'Sibling Grief as a child' to explore how she tried to grapple with grief as an eight year old compared to how she is dealing with it now as a 22 year old. https://www.theridsdaletwins.com/p/sibling-grief-as-a-child

06.01.2022 SIBLING SUPPORT ONLINE CHAT SERVICE TCFV is thrilled to announce that our new Sibling Support Online Chat Service WILL BE LIVE FROM TODAY (MONDAY 31 AUGUST) FROM 3.00 PM UNTL 12.00 AM. This service is a peer based social and emotional support program for bereaved siblings aged 18-30 years.... 04.01.2022 Volunteers Required TCFV could not survive without its many volunteers, even with lockdown and restrictions there is still much that can be done from home. A limited number of people are also allowed into the office based in Canterbury. All volunteers are bereaved and there is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere, you can chat whilst you work with like-minded people who are understanding and compassionate. To volunteer at TCFV you must be over twelve months bereaved. ...Volunteers are needed to help with numerous administration and organisational tasks and we would also love anyone who has Marketing or Advertising experience. We also require mentors for our new Sibling Chat Service, for this volunteers must be aged 18-35. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to know more please email Jenny on [email protected] Or ring the office on (03) 9888 4944. See more
